Mobile app sucks now

The app WAS fine until they redone the bottom bar removing all the quick access functions.

Now if you want to make a bill payment or e-transfer you got to navigate their clunky side menu.

app has always been bad

having to deal with constant crashing and "unavailable" pop ups before was frustrating, but this new UI is terrible. nobody wants to cycle through multiple side menus just to transfer funds to a different account

Latest Update is a Downgrade

The latest update is a downgrade and makes me cringe when I have to use it now. Specifically, there are three things:

1. Scrolling within an account has two scroll windows now: the main app window and the separate transactions window. When you slide you thumb up naturally to view your transactions, the main app window stays put now and the small transaction window at the bottom of the screen scrolls, allowing you to only see a couple lines at a time. This makes me then have you slide the main app window up enough that I can see enough transaction lines. Very annoying. There was nothing wrong with the way it was before.

2. All “pay bills, transfer money, e-transfer, etc” are hidden in a small, highly unintuitive button in the bottom corner labelled “Move”. When the app first updated, I needed to pay a bill and transfer funds and saw there was no more intuitive obvious button to do that and had no idea where those actions went. Finally, I noticed that “move” button and found those actions buried in there. This adds another tap to the process which, in app good practices, is a failure. Also, the options for moving money are very oddly prioritized, such as “request e-transfer” and “move $25,000 to an external account”. How are those two things ranked higher than paying bills and transferring money within your own accounts/making an e-transfer? I see that the practical buttons along the bottom have been replaced by “products” and “discover”, two things that are available in the left menu and, in my opinion, the least important things to have quick access too. Yay, more GIC marketing (this is also way too plentiful on the opening screen). This whole process was flawless the way it was laid out before and by far the worst update of the lot.

3. When paying a bill or transferring money, there is no “enter” or “done” button after entering the dollar amount which leaves a lot of confusion for how to finish typing in that screen. Eventually, I figured it out just by tapping the screen all over, but this too is a total UI failure.

I’ve always had high praise for the CC app and loved working in it. Now, I avoid it as much as necessary.

New layout broken

The new layout is completely broken. Controls cover other controls, can't close some of them. Stuff is hidden in more menus, everything is harder to locate and use, and requires way more button presses. There was no need for a layout change, especially to one that's measurably worse in every way.

Frustrating UX changes in v4.5.0

The new UX changes to the tab bar make everyday banking more difficult, and seem designed to instead push products on you. The new floating bubble for everyday transactions looks like a cheap android interface rather than a well-integrated design you would expect on iOS, and the menu it opens looks even cheaper with its “fastest” banner over requesting e-transfers. Again, another UX nudge that seems aimed towards getting your money into your account so it’s available for products they want to push, rather than consideration for people using the app for everyday banking.

These changes to the app were also coordinated with a phone campaign tied to their high interest savings promotion, with advisors trying to get you in to invest in their products. This is disappointing behaviour—what happened to the stress-free culture at Coast Capital?

I will change my review if the UX changes are reverted.

Update to my review after more use: They also broke favourite transactions with this update, which I use to pay my bills on time. Clicking a favourite transaction now brings you to the transaction page without any of the transaction info filled in… this is affecting me personally now, beyond feelings of frustration. Unbelievable.

Recent update is terrible

This App was fine before, but it recently changed and now it is absolutely horrible to navigate. I hope they change it back to the way it was. Not an improvement in the least bit.

Terrible

So many problems!!! Extremely frustrating.

Wish I didn’t update

This new version isn’t an upgrade

Lost all of my quick buttons at the bottom
(Account, transfer, eTransfer, Pay Bill)

When I try to pay a bill or complete a transfer, the CONTINUE button disappears.

:(

QA issues

After the latest update, I can’t even submit a complaint within the app. I get “message is invalid” error message. My original complaint to send:

Cannot add new payee since the keyboard does not minimize after entering the OTP.

Please fix and do better. Thanks.

Awful update

Recent changes to the app make it harder to use. Used to be able to pay my bills super fast now I have to search for the option. Wish they would stop making unnecessary changes to the app.

My favourite banking brand

Five star

Frequently unusable

Perhaps a project given to the boss’ kid !? More updates than a teenage relationship status on facebook.

Great App

Simply to navigate and very quick

Not working on new OS update

Keeps crashing

App never works

The app is constantly crashing. How can you take so much of our money and then don’t even have a functioning banking app? People need access to these things promptly.

Fix your app!

WTF can no longer log in - the error says it's us not you and I believe it but when are you going to fix it?

App keeps crashing!!

Needs an update fix because the app keeps crashing. The sign-in page doesn’t even load. I also tried to receive an e-transfer but the app crashes when redirected. Please fix this!!!
