Pathetic, Amateurish, Broken, Hacky Excuse For an App

You know when an actor gets older, decides to get cosmetic surgery, and ends up looking like a grotesque and inhuman mockery of their former self? This app is worse. UPDATE: Still a dumpster fire of terrible decisions and uninformed design. What an amazing leap backwards past mediocrity into incompetence. Steaming fecal garbage that continues to somehow get worse. On the plus side, I haven’t been tempted to actually spend a single penny since they released this embarrassment. What a pathetic step backward. Harder to use, poorly designed, and lacking basically every user friendly feature of the previous version. Did you lose a bet or just lose interest in your customers? This is literally the worst update I’ve ever seen. It’s like malware for your soul. Lacks a single redeemable feature and makes me never want to read a comic again. This is clown shoes, hacky, and amateurish. And those are its good points. One must assume no one on the dev team has actually ever (a) read a comic or (b) created an app, as this abortion is a crime against humanity.

Response from developer

Thanks so much for the honest feedback. We're taking this back to our team and will keep you posted as we move forward!

Lame

I’ve upgraded to the newest version that supposedly now supports hiding books again but option isn’t available. I even deleted the app and re-installed it and still doesn’t appear under “Actions” after selecting books.
I’ve also sent feedback about issues with certain books (mostly cosmetic issues like a black strip that appears above the page which is annoying but not detrimental) and received a “thanks for letting us know” and that’s it; issues still there months later.
The original app was perfectly fine; never had any issues with it. I dreaded this forced update and am still disappointed with it. If I wanted to use the kindle app I’d have downloaded the kindle app……..sorry to the developers who have to work on this app :(

Manual Organization

I was extremely disappointed with this app. Its completely pointless since its just a copy of the kindle app. Why would anyone bother with two? I was hoping that an app specializing in comics would understand the needs of comic readers better. I’m talking about filing and categorizing.

I have a large collection of DC comics, following Batman and his Bat family across different titles. Any comic reader would know how difficult it is to keep track of stories with crossovers and Rebirth and the 52 etc. The option to organize comics according to publishing date doesn’t work because you have new editions and collections etc. The current options are hopeless and i get frustrated following any story line.

I was hoping this app would provide better filing options. I would have liked to be able to manually organize my comics into files, and order them within the file also manually, so that every big story has all the crossover comics in one neat pile. Another great thing would be to have the files then appear in a horizontal list, and be able to add my own notes next to it.

New layout is garbage

The new layout is garbage and hard to navigate. They made it too similar to kindle’s app format which is pretty awful. You can no longer see previews for comic pages, it’s hard to view full series of comics, and you’re forced to see people’s reviews. I wish I could turn off other people’s reviews, I don’t want to see them. I want previews back. The old version of the app was much better organized and easier to navigate. I don’t understand why they had to turn it into a kindle clone. I used comixology for years and it was fine. Now I don’t want to use it anymore. It is a confusing mess. Change it back!
