Potentially the Least User-Friendly App I’ve Ever Had the Displeasure of Using
Downloaded the app before placing an order to see if there were any deals. The deal I got for doing so was nice, ended up with a free Shareable Cinnamon Roll platter. Everything else, however, was a nightmare.
For starters, I tried to add a Country Fried Steak meal to the cart, but part of the meal was unavailable so it wouldn’t add. However, it also wouldn’t tell me which part was unavailable, so I had to keep changing the sides/extras until it finally went through. (The cornbread was the problem.)
Then I went to edit the meal in the cart and found out the edit button doesn’t work at all. It just throws an error along the lines of “item not found” when you click it. Which was lovely, since that meant I had to fully remove the item from my cart and re-add it with the new changes.
Then, the free Shareable reward wouldn’t activate. I ended up having to relaunch the app and try again, since trying to redeem the reward would throw a “failed to apply offers” error message. After reloading the app, it worked fine.
Finally, it wouldn’t let me place the order. After all that struggle I ended up just having to call the restaurant and order over the phone since nothing I did would fix the issue. Double and triple checked my payment method, called to make sure they were open still, reloaded the app multiple times, changed the pick up time, nothing would work.
I tried to use the app again today and encountered many of the same issues, but I was able to at least use the app this time. Yay.
All in all, amazing food and good rewards through the app. If you can get the app to work, that is.

Redemption Of Rewars nonfunctional
I attempted to redeem my reward of a shareable and added an order of fried pickles to my cart. Despite having the point(pegs) to redeem the item I was met with an error message when I got to my cart. Attempted to contact customer service through the app and they were completely useless. There seems to be issues of what items can actually be redeemed even if they are in the category for which the reqard should be viable or issues on the design if the app itself.

Limited Party Size
Downloaded the app to use the call ahead seating feature, but parties are limited to a max of 6. Called the store to see if they could add 2 more to the entry to create a party of 8, but they said I had to use the app. Was told to make another entry in the app under the same name. Attempted to follow the instructions but discovered the app doesn’t support multiple entries. If you have a big family, make multiple entries on separate devices to join the waitlist under the same name, but someone in the party will still need to show up early to tell the host to combine the entries. Showing up that early defeats the purpose of remotely joining the waitlist.

Good Food / Horrible App
I don’t usually write reviews, but every time I try to use this application, I end up getting angry and moving on to something else. It needs some serious bug fixes. It won’t let you change the time for pickup or modify a dish that’s been saved to the cart. If you want to edit anything you have to completely delete and start over. It’s ridiculous. The food is good but this app needs some serious improvement.

This app needs to be updated. Didn’t add tip to total.
This app needs to be updated. I used this app a couple weeks before and it worked fine, but the last time I ordered and even though I checked the other box for the tip and added a tip amount, it did not add it to my order. I had to pull cash to give to the driver when she got here. I did the chat and it didn’t help. It said, they couldn’t add the tip to the order and then it just gave me the phone number to the restaurant and when I called the restaurant, they told me to hold while they connect me to someone and I let it ring a minimum of 20 times and no one answered. It was really very frustrating to have to deal with. I tried another order, because i thought it could have been my fault, but no it wasn’t me, it was going to do the same thing and not add the tip to the total price. This needs to be addressed. Luckily I had the extra cash, so I could give the driver the tip, but what if I hadn’t. What a mess it could have been.

Waitlist feature is terrible

I came to Crackel Barrel today for my usual: Momma’s pancake breakfast. I noticed the restaurant was super busy so I used the app to join the waitlist. The app clearly says that I will get a text when it’s my turn so I sat in my car and waited. About 40 mins goes by and still nothing. I went into the restaurant and noticed that parties were being sat immediately. As soon as I walked up to the hostess stand, they were ready to seat me, even without saying I was on the waitlist.
I asked to confirm that I was actually on the waitlist. The hostess looked me up and confirmed I had been on the list and that they had called my name several times.
That’s not what the app told me would happen when I joined the waitlist. I was told I’d get a text so I didn’t even go into the restaurant. Then to be greeted with that. It was not a great experience. The hostess made it sound like it was my fault that I didn’t hear my name being called. Quite the frustrating experience today. Not what I’d expect from Cracker Barrel.

Never Fully Working
The Cracker Barrel app is okay in that it lets you complete the order generally, but I have never used their app where there wasn’t some type of bug that made it frustrating to use. Some previous examples were with it not accepting gift cards or run-of-the-mill payment option, randomly not allowing me to complete my order via the app for some unexplained reason, and not allowing me to order a piece of cake before 11AM (even though I was getting a prompt to do so). Now the frustration is that it won’t allow me to add extra syrup under the condiments section even though it is clearly one of the selection listed as available for an extra $0.79. It throws up an “Error. Something went wrong!” Message the last few times we’ve order from the app. We do like their food, so I hope they eventually get this app worked out where there’s no bug bugs.

Worst app
Genuinely this is the worst restaurant app.
Can’t update
Very upset.. I have older phone and can’t update the app.. very frustrating that you have to buy a new phone to be able to use the app
App points everything to website
I found very little to no value in this app. It seems everything that I attempted to accomplish, I was pointed to the website (which required me to sign in again). Do yourself a favor- skip the app and sign in once- on the website.
Terrible loading times and user experience
I downloaded the app because the website on my phone was taking forever, however I realized the app is somehow even worse. Location glitching, blank menu screens, or menu item boxes show up but no product image or description. It was so bad I decided the 45 sec loading time website was better to use. 2 weeks ago they had an update, maybe they need to update their team now.

App is broken
Location services dont work & cant select a store, images dont load, etc. Impossible to order. Tried multiple phones, connections, etc. just look at the all the most recent reviews
App not working again today
Very disappointed in the Cracker Barrel App. Again today the app is not working. When it was working it wasn’t working properly and would not let you add any condiments or silverware. Please fix this app. App needs to save user information and payment information to make ordering faster. Cracker Barrel has great food and a wonderful restaurant staff but the app needs an overhaul.

Glitchy App
This app is terrible. Every time I try to place an order it takes me a MINIMUM of 30 minutes. Either I can’t add an item to my cart or it won’t let me check out, etc. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Requires frequent login
Why is it necessary to get logged out so often?!!!! It’s a food app, not a secret service acct. There is no reason I should have to login in so often.
Just another pretty face
The app looks good, but frequently has errors that have resulted in me losing money on orders that can’t/won’t be fulfilled, are incorrect/incomplete, or charging my card after saying there was an error and no way to fix the issue. Even with contacting customer support, there is no chance for a refund or help to fix the issues it has given me. I do not recommend the app.

We are regular visitors at Cracker Barrel in Elkhart, Indiana. I can’t say enough good things about our server, Kathleen. We request her section whenever we are there for breakfast or lunch. She is attentive during our entire stay and makes sure our order is correct and well prepared.
