Exactly what I was looking for.

I was always looking for something like this for my ex5. Works great and connects with the bike and heart rate monitor with ease. I like how it auto adjust resistance depending on the terrain.

Still in Beta?

The title says it all. This app does have some great features and opens up new possibilities with the Echelon bike, however, the execution feels clunky and is missing some key features. I’m writing this hoping echelon will read and continue to develop this app.
First, the good. This separates from the more “spin” focused, main echelon app. It feels a lot more like just going for a bike ride. The resistance automatically changes with the course you choose. You can also race AI, yourself or other people. All good ways to see how you compare. This whole part of the app works well and shows that the bones are there to make something good.
Now, on to the bad. There are only 3 different courses to choose from. If you are wanting to ride for any length of time, you’ll end up just doing laps on either the easy, medium or hard tracks. I haven’t found a way to change to the metric system in the app so I’m stuck reading speed and distance in miles. There’s no real training systems or coaching involved in the app.
It feels like Echelon is trying to offer something to Zwift but then gave up on the first step. Honestly, I would pay for the basic subscription if Echelon would allow 3rd party connectivity. I feel like rather then trying to develop their own app, allowing 3rd party apps makes a lot more sense.
