Difficulties connecting
Installed in 2019 and have the latest update. I have repeatedly had trouble maintaining a wifi connection with my Rheem heat pump water heater. Although it was and remain connected for the first couple of years in the last couple of years, I’ve been unable to reconnect. Disappointing.
New app, no good
I had the old app connected and working for years, but the new app that was forced on us will not link up to the water heater. Lost all WiFi abilities of this expensive water heater that had been working fine for years.
New app not good at all
Old app worked great. New app useless and won’t connect to WiFi making $3k water heater useless. Thanks rheem for forcing to use new app that doesn’t work.
App saying it has lost connection with server.
It’s been 17 hours since the app has not come back up to service. The message I got it said the app had lost communication with server.
Once AGAIN the App does not work.
As a network engineer I can tell you that this thing is connected and passing data back-and-for. The problem is on Rheem’s end as usual whenever they change something they break the App. And the customer service guy I talked to said that they need to create a fix for it and to wait 1 to 2 weeks. Are you serious?

Loses connection to WiFi when it is right across the hall from the modem. Also wish it would tell me when the compressor is running or when the heat is running. I hate this thing.
Unreliable program heating schedule program
The program water heater heating schedule changes on its own. And this has happened multiple times. There was no response when I emailed the company about this issue. This is disappointing. This is supposed to be the top of the line Pro Tera, hybrid water heater.
App doesn't work
The app seldom works as designed. I would not recommend it to anyone.

I have updated the app several times and keeps telling me to update and when I click the app says “open”. Now it doesn’t load

Won't pull error, even though it shows it in app and on water heater. Tried to create an account, Error HTTP Request is throttled. Try again later............
Top tier
This app is top notch for controlling hot water heater. From setting temperatures to resetting errors it does it all!

Does Not Save Programmed Time and Temps
I just installed this yesterday because my HVAC contractor installed a Rheem RETST800SYS to go with my Rheem furnace and AC. I programmed a schedule for one day, copied it to the other days and it does not save. I did it 2 other times and it did not save. I also adjusted the temp from the app on my iPhone, and it did not update. I had to walk over to the thermostat and do it. The purpose of this is the have it all work from my phone. I’m using the 2.4 Wi-Fi too. Getting ready to contact Rheem for support.

It just gets worse…
Was forced to update my old EcoNet by Rheem app to this new EcoNet app and I’m not sure what changed. Both apps are literally slow and janky. It takes forever to load, the UI is laggy, and the new app literally crashed on me at setup. Just creating a new account was terrible.
I’ve already had to re-download the new app because it wouldn’t go past the sign-in screen and was stuck in a loop as if it was loading…it was definitely not loading. Now I can’t even get past the Add Your First Product setup and it’s doing the same thing with the loading symbol as if something is happening. The combination of this garbage app and the hardware limitation of the thermostat not connecting to my WiFi is driving me nuts.

App is junk and does not work
App is junk and does not work, after regular business hours. Every time I attempt to change the temperature of my water heater it conveniently decides that it wants to revert to a lower temperature I am alerted that I need to contact customer support, however customer support is not open. It miraculously fixes itself in the morning, when customer support is open. This is junk stop tinkering with it and keep it simple
