Absolutely horrible migration process
So the migration process is so bad it wipes all of your programs. This is just insane. How can a company with a brand name like this? Screw up an app so badly?
Horrible
May or may not work on my iPad or on my Samsung phone. Won’t recognize sign in information or send a recovery email. I have been troubleshooting this for two days, with the help of ai, to no avail… delete app, reinstall, reconnect controller, repeat, etc., etc.
Even with the controller on a dedicated 2.4 Ghz network (to avoid any potential issues with 2 vs 5 ghz) there’s constant communication errors. It’s 2026. Do better Rainbird. There’s just no excuse for such a poor app.
I had no choice but to spend the money to get a Rachio controller with its highly rated, easy to use, functional app - practically plug and play.
Aside from all of that, the Rainbird ESP ME3 controller itself works very well. I just got tired of fighting the app and having to use it manually.

let down
Don’t have expectations this is better then 1.0, its worse in many ways.
Maybe it will work, maybe it won’t
In the last two months, I have had my ESP-ME3 completely trash my two programs and revert back to programs used last fall when I was watering 4-5 times a day for new grass, remove one of my zones from Program A twice, and reset all my days from 3x per week to every day for both programs I run. And now this morning, I found the entire controller had been turned off. (Of course that would happen while I’m on vacation so didn’t even think to have to check every day to make sure it was working correctly.) I know I haven’t made any of these changes, and I am the only one with the app who accessed the system. Of course with no type of event history or availability of commands sent to the controller, it’s impossible to know how any of these things happened, but it’s getting really, really old having to go check the system multiple times a week to make sure it hasn’t screwed itself up again.
