About
The Eating Disorder Dynamic Intervention (EDDI) app is a mobile application designed to support individuals with eating disorders in their daily lives. EDDI delivers real-time, personalized support by combining evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies with moment-to-moment data collection.
Throughout the day, users are prompted to complete brief ecological momentary assessment (EMA) surveys that capture thoughts, emotions, and behaviors as they occur. Using this information, the app provides just-in-time adaptive interventions (JITAIs), offering targeted CBT skills exactly when they may be most helpful.
EDDI focuses on key areas relevant to eating disorder recovery, including reducing dietary restraint, managing urges, improving emotion regulation, and addressing body image concerns. The app also includes a repository of skill summaries to help users better understand and apply these techniques in their everyday lives.
In addition, users can track their progress through weekly logs, allowing them to reflect on patterns in their behaviors and monitor changes over time. Overall, EDDI brings together assessment, intervention, and progress tracking in one place, with the goal of making support more accessible, timely, and responsive to your needs. The app is part of an ongoing research study aimed at improving digital interventions for eating disorders.
