User reviews

Can’t turn off awful voice- even enhanced and premium

Can’t turn off voices without turning off all sound
I would give more stars if I had the option of ‘none’ on the voices.

Response from developer

I implemented the requested feature to turn off the voice while keeping the dot sound active in version 2.6. Note with the voice off, you have to manually press the continue button each time after the prompt text display. Additionally a volume control has been added for both the Voice and Dot sound.

Very good! Suggestions for Custom improvements

In ‘custom’ could you add an option to each stage for varying time lengths. Currently you select one timespan eg 1 min and that applies to each stage. Some stages need the user to press continue when they are ready ie unlimited timespan.

For the assessment stage can you add a scale for the user to select their intensity of feelings from?

Can you allow a second scale to be added as well.

At the end you’ve added a conclusion about the balloon/ breathing. Can you allow this to be edited or removed. I wrote my own conclusion so I was surprised when this invisible conclusion was read out as there was no indication it would be added.

Thank you for your app!

Response from developer

Regarding Custom EMDR session In version 2.6 of the app update there is a pre SUDS prompt before the Desensitization phase and one after it. A session history feature has been added (top navigation bar with clock icon), here you can review the scores you have entered for each session along with repeated desensitization counts. The default "breathing guide" has been removed and you can now add your own Breathing End Phase text or opt-out of this part. Adding individual timespan segments for each phase wasn't done to keep the interface simple for quick usage. But in version 2.6.1 a continue button confirmation has been added to the phases Installation, Body Scan and Closure. With this you can in a way choose how long you stay in each phase. The old way was adding multiple Installation phase entries when you want a longer Installation phase.

So far so good

Just had the first guided session . Looks good might take some more time to get used to it . Tried one traumatic event .really good

Very good and it works

I’ve had it done with professional before, many years ago and then two years ago (for different things)
Just tried this and it does exactly the same, but without costing £150 and hour
Thank you

Excellent DIY alternative

I’ve been treated for CPTSD with EMDR before and this is an excellent alternative that I can do myself at home. I’ve looked at several apps and this is the only one that offers a process and setup similar to what I received in person so I trust that it is going to be just as rewarding in the long term. I’ve already used it several times and it produces similar results. I recommend experiencing EMDR with a practitioner first so you know what’s involved and you have the recovery support but otherwise this is a great tool.
