Extremely Unreliable
Empower has been one of the most frustrating ride apps I’ve ever used. The lower price means absolutely nothing when you cannot rely on the service.
Drivers routinely cancel - sometimes after you’ve already waited 10–15 minutes. The app may show your driver as “2 minutes away” for what feels like forever, with no accurate indication of when they’re actually arriving. Then, after wasting your time, the driver can simply cancel.
Good luck trying to contact them. Many drivers don’t answer calls or respond to messages. The navigation and tracking are terrible, and pickup and drop-off locations are frequently inaccurate. For a transportation app, getting the basic mapping and arrival-time functionality right should be the bare minimum.
The most valuable currency is time, and Empower has wasted enough of mine.
I’d rather pay more for a ride and have a driver actually show up when expected. A cheaper fare isn’t a bargain when it comes with cancellations, inaccurate ETAs, poor communication, and zero reliability.
Saving a few dollars is not worth wondering whether your ride is actually going to show up.

Don’t use this app if the fare is less than $25
I’ve been using this app for several months and I’m now deleting it. It’s great if the fare is $25 or higher. But if the fare is $12, you’re going to get cancelled on multiple times. Tonight I got cancelled on 3 times and each time the fare went up. Regardless, I waited over 20 minutes at 2:00 AM while driver after driver canceled on the $12 fare. Uber and Lyft cost much more, but at least they show up.

They will tell you one price but when you finished the ride is a much higher price. I don’t understand. I just started taking empower ride I uber to and from work every day. But I am watching to see if this is worth it.
More affordable, but longer waits and worse app capabilities
Really appreciate the more affordable pricing, but wait times are significantly longer, you can’t copy and paste addresses into the app, you’ll often get inaccurate arrival times that are delayed, & the location services of tracking the drivers always appears stalled. At the very least, you should be able to copy and paste an address instead of fully typing it in. If those issues were fixed, I would use it all the time. Since it’s such an issue, I only use it if I’m really not in any hurry.

The app is only good for its prices
At first i liked the app bc of the prices of course. However, this company let anyone work for them. The drivers i have been getting have been weird and took forever to pick me up. I think that the drivers should have a time requirement to start driving to their customers within 2 mins (really it should be immediate), It isn’t fair to those who have places to be. I also think that the drivers should go through a intensive background check. Overall my experience has not been well and my last driver was my last straw to stop using this app. Back to uber/lyft i go.

Terrible quality control and unfair pricing
A driver made me walk five minutes to his location, claiming a garbage truck blocked the road, even though other cars could pass. He then canceled the ride himself.
Since then, my fares have more than doubled. Why should passengers be penalized for a driver’s behavior? Zero accountability and terrible quality control.

This is one of the greatest ride share apps definitely the best prices. Not to mention the driver I have was so upbeat and friendly nice music nice ride all around the BEST!!!
Great new service
I had a quick pick up at a local dispensary and as I got out I asked if I could book him back to my home and he did wait and my journey was very nice
Long Pick Up Time
Empower is the worst. The app always tells me that the driver will pick me up in 2 minutes, but I always wait 10 minutes or more. I want to get where I want to go on time, but empower doesn’t allow that and at that point, I’ll just call an Uber because it will get me there faster.

You don’t know what you’ll get..
We ordered a driver. In about 5 min I got a call from the driver asking me where I was going. I was baffled because THEY know where we were going but he was asking because he didn’t want a short ride which really wasn’t short. He just wanted MORE money and a longer ride. Very very unprofessional. He was forced to cancel cause I told him I wasn’t canceling it. He HAD to cancel or else he couldn’t attempt to pick up another person. Wish I knew how to give that guy negative 10 stars. The next driver we got was excellent and very professional. It’s those bad apples that ruins the bunch.
