Inefficient & privacy grabbing

Downloaded expecting a Turo like app for similar smooth transaction but no. So many more additional app s you will also need to download for somehow unnecessary levels of verification… like how many times verification do you need? Also at one point it asks to upload a picture of the driver and the credit card being used showing clear card numbers… tell me this is not scammy to the most degree… I’m just renting a car not slaving my portrait or my card info away?? If this is the case then it should have been clearly listed and known to the potential users, prior to em downloading the app. Long story short. If there is only take away, you are better off to just stick with Turo.

Awful experience so far

1 star. Extremely frustrating experience. My rental had already started, and the Eon app showed both check-in and pickup as completed, yet the “Car Access” section was completely blank and I had no way to unlock or enter the vehicle.

I was physically at the pickup location with an assigned car but effectively stranded outside of it. I called the assigned agent repeatedly and received no answer. For a supposedly app-based, keyless rental service, actually being able to access the car is the most basic part of the experience.

I had completed every required step, authorized the security deposit, and the app itself said pickup was complete, yet I still could not use the vehicle I was paying for. There also appeared to be no immediate backup solution when the digital access failed.

I travel frequently and have rented cars many times, and this was one of the most unnecessarily stressful pickup experiences I’ve had. Eon seriously needs a reliable after-hours support system and a backup method of vehicle access when the app fails.

Promising but execution is lacking

Promising app but my experience was it doesn’t deliver.

Car advertised are latest models. Car I was matched to was 2022. Customer support said they don’t have latest MY but that what are advertised…

No ability to set a distance radius for pickup. Resulted in a pickup location 80 miles from my apartment.

I tried to call to find something closer, I never heard back from support, I had to call, they said they would get back to me, they didn’t.

Two days before the pickup dates, they needed to change the car and then have me swap the car 80 miles away again.

It’s a shame as I really excited to use this service but it turned out to be too good to be true

Great Idea, Poor Execution

I really like the concept behind Eon Rides, but the execution still has a long way to go.

The biggest issue is customer service. A service that’s marketed as on demand should have live chat or real-time support. I feel like there is only one employee manning the customer service lind. Instead, you’re left waiting with very little communication. In some ways, it’s more frustrating than renting from Avis or Hertz because at least with them, once your reservation is confirmed, you know you’ll have a car.

My first rental was okay. Accessing the car was easy, but it was filthy inside. I ended up paying out of pocket to have it cleaned before I felt comfortable driving it. They did issue me a credit afterward, which I appreciated, but customers shouldn’t have to clean their rental before using it.

My second experience with the subscription was even more frustrating. Eon charged my card before confirming they actually had a vehicle available. I have no problem paying in advance, but these rentals can cost $500 or more for an extended booking. It’s not fair to charge a customer that much money before confirming availability, then leave them waiting with little to no communication or updates.

The idea behind Eon is fantastic, but there is too much uncertainty every time you book. Don’t charge customers until you’ve confirmed the vehicle is actually available.

AMAZINGG

I mean where do I even get started, the app experience is spectacular! It’s so futuristic and the best part is I can drive a Tesla, and have Tesla app functionality without downloading the Tesla app, it’s an amazing ecosystem that lives within Eon. Will be renting again for sure.
