Everything I need for free and I get interest. Even when we did have an issue, the customer service was better than a bank branch

Love, love the simplicity of EQ, none of the nonsense 3 month promotional rates. Just great rates all the time. And chat and call options for support. If you’re comfortable with banking online, EQ is the bank for you.

Constant technical issues messages while performing basic everyday banking tasks. Worst experience I’ve had with an online banking service.
Poor experience with Bill payments
Money got stuck which was urgently needed for needs of my senior citizen parents. Didn’t get bill payments done on time because of EQ and I’m paying for the consequences for the delays. Poor service and experience this time again.
Keeps asking to update info
This app has many bugs, it keeps asking me to verify if my info is up to date which it is and when I confirm it says something went wrong. I have face ID passkey set up to sign in but it keeps asking me to put in my password and after I hit the sign in button it sends a password to my email to log in even though I don’t have 2 factor authenticator set up and have “remember this device” selected. It’s an ordeal to do anything on this app and I switched to another bank for this reason. It used to work great for the first few years but it’s been like this for about 6 months, no matter what I do, I updated the app multiple times and nothing fixes this issue, so I eventually gave up doing everyday banking with EQ.

Annoying pop ups
EQ pops up a message asking me to review the bank during every online session, which is super inconvenient and annoying.
Too much time to Load
It takes too much time to load initially. Initially when you login to the app it should be quick and seemingly.
Bring back biometric unlock
Requiring passkeys to open the app make it much more inconvenient as I have to unlock my password manager every time. It isn’t any more secure than using biometric authentication.
Amazing banking and service
I truly love banking with EQ. The customer service is immaculate and you speak to a representative in a timely manner. I have recommended this bank to all my friends and family!!!!
Terrible
The worst bank I’ve ever used. Lock your account without telling you and when you finally figure it out on your own they make it impossible to get your money out. Fought with them for 8 months to get my money back. Then they closed my account for no reason. Way better options out there
Cannot access TFSA account information the app is up to date
The app only shows the interest graph, cannot see details of my TFSA nor the associated GIC
I logged in through the browser and found out that my GIC was “magically renewed”
I did not authorize it and did not request it.
Without having access to the account information the app - how could I have done it?!

App kind of slow
It loads slow when i open the app. And sometimes the content inside the app takes forever to show up.

Slow and untrustworthy
Very slow app, it does not save local preferences, always asks to confirm with a code regardless if you have asked to trust the phone which is very annoying.

Been with EQ for a while now and their business and personal banking is awesome. No fees that big banks charge. Saved me a lot in transactions.

I’ve been using EQ bank for more than two years now, never had any issues, all smooth, efficient and quick! Love and recommend it highly!
App is glitchy
To have an online bank, a company must deliver exceptional technology. EQ Bank does not. I’ve pulled my money before out of fear that this terribly buggy platform will one day crash and take my money with it. Very disappointed.
