I had a problem with the app and spent hours in email correspondence going round in circles. Wasted hours of my holiday. There is no customer service where you can actually talk to someone to problem solve and my problem could’ve been sorted out very quickly. I’m reasonably Tech savvy so I can’t imagine what it’s like for someone who isn’t. Eventually I found someone who could identify the problem and then the app was easy to but I wish this could’ve happened at the outset. I was really disappointed by my experience.

Bad app with deliberate scams
Honestly such a horrible experience, firstly you can’t book reservations in the app. Secondly they allow you to book connecting trains but then if you miss the next one due to their trains being delayed they make you pay extra for another reservation. App has terrible AI chat ‘customer service’ which then then funnel you to a human who just redirects you to a claims form which does absolutely nothing and they are no help. Hope they all die miserably

Useless. Might as well not use it.
UNBELEIVABLY COMPLICATED
Compared to booking a flight, booking trains in Europe is monumentally more complex and clunking. I love travelling by train. I hate how difficult it is!

Can't figure out how to see trips. I also can't figure out why, even when I have made reservations in the App I cannot link trips, even though it tells me to create a trip and link it.

No value for money, avoid
I've recently purchased a 7-day pass and currently using it to travel between 4 countries (France, Belgium, Germany and Luxemburg).
On average, I'm taking a couple of trains a day.
The pass turned to be more expensive than purchasing all these train tickets separately.
The app is faulty with several issues, including:
Inability to pay for additional bookings required for ICE trains
Wrong pricing for bookings (app says from €8, at the station it was €18)
Login screen not working
Route calculations wrong and leaving not enough time for catching a connection
Overall, clunky and slow app
Poor explanation before purchasing a pass
Overall, it looks Interrail is not fit for running this service
I'll not use it again

Appli top, bug à régler
Bonjour, un petit bug à régler vite fait : si la connexion wifi/réseau cellulaire est mauvaise, il faudrait forcer quand même l'affichage des horaires car actuellement il faut forcer le mode avion pour avoir les horaires hors-ligne.
Sans cette astuce la recherche d'horaires peut mouliner bêtement en attendant une meilleure connexion.

Often clunky and inaccurate
Got the Eurrail pass but found I had to go to each train’s individual website to get accurate information, schedules, reservations etc. App also glitchy and impossible to navigate. Very frustrating.
Easy
Once you’re used to it it’s easy to use and fast to get train times (although not always bang up to date and struggles with east European train times)
Painless travel by trains in Europe
Been to Europe and travelled by trains previously but this APP has made absolute difference in travelling in Europe by trains with easy planning of routes and departures. The APP also offers local discounts of certain rides and tours at up to half price making the entire experience more rewarding. The only drawback is that some trains require seat reservations that need to be purchased separately on local websites (you need to keep track of it yourself because the APP doesn’t). Highly recommended to all travellers by train in Europe. 🙂

Worse than the Eurostar app
Contra intuitive and annoying to use. I really wish that I had paid someone else to book the journeys and just give me a reference to add to the app. I have hated every interaction I have had with this app. Have I said I hate it? I do hate it.
Works well
Been using it for several years and it is pretty effective and intuitive. It does seem like you can’t access you pass if you don’t have service, so I’ll take a screenshot. The other thing that would be sweet would be the ability to plane alternate/more scenic routes, instead of it always defaulting to the shortest - I’ve had to “trick” it by selecting intermediate stops to take different routes that I know are more scenic. And of course having to make resis on other apps is annoying but I get why it works that way.

Voyager en Europe en mode agile
Cette app disrupte la façon française de prendre le train et est hyper utile pour voyager en Europe de façon agile et flexible sans se prendre à tête avec les tarifs et les différentes compagnies de chemin de fer (type SNCF Connect perdu des qu’on passe la frontière).
Encore à améliorer : les liens vers les réservations et l’exhaustivité des horaires possibles (quand on veut prendre le bon matelas de confort nécessaire en ce moment pour les correspondances en Allemagne).
Mais un grand bravo pour cette idée !

Pretty good
Just returning from a months interrail trip around Poland using the Rail Planner app. Overall it worked pretty well and is much better than most Rail booking apps.
I had initial problems because I had planned all the rail trips on my own iPhone for my husband and I. But when ready to travel I needed to transfer everything to his iPhone. The only way was to delete his Pass and all the planned journeys on my phone and he had to do it all over again on his phone.
It would be better to be able to have our Passes and trips on both our phones just in case we lose one of our phones.
The seat reservations could also be improved. For example we had a 1st class Seniors Pass and sometimes I couldn’t book a 1st class ticket via the app and so booked 2nd class. Yet when we boarded the train there were sometimes unbooked seats in 1st class.
Also, If unable to reserve seats via the Rail Planner app, and you have to book via the train company (eg Eurostar, Eurosleeper), not clear how to transfer the Interrail Pass concessions.

Solid app
The app is very useful for finding trains and organizing a trip on short notice. However, you shouldn’t fully rely on it because it sometimes doesn’t account for local transfers and trains that require seat reservations even though the app states they don’t. Highly recommend the Eurail pass overall.
