This was the first time I had a chance to use EVgo on the road and it was a snap! Quick and efficient! Instructions simple and concise. Highly recommend using.

Most unreliable and unusable network out there
I have had an EVgo membership for over 2.5 years. 95% of my attempts to use their stations end in failure. This includes all available methods to activate the charger, including autocharge, RFID card, multiple credit cards, and the mobile app, and is consistent across all locations in their network. Support has been completely useless, and has tried to tell me that the problem is with me, my car, or my first party official adapter, which all seem to work completely fine at the literally hundreds of other charging stations I’ve tried in the two years and 52,000 miles that I’ve had my car. Never and I mean NEVER plan on relying on them.

First charge with EV go
I’ve used a few different charges in the last couple of years and this one was by far the easiest to connect and start charging. The display screen is large with clear instructions. and the speed of the charge is super fast I’ll be back!
Spam notifications
Deleted the app and my account after the third unsolicited promotional push notification despite turning off marketing and promotional notifications in the settings. Very rude.
Extremely unreliable
I have used several EVgo chargers and nine out of 10 times they’re unreliable and I have to end up calling customer service and then end up switching to a different charger. Electrify America and ChargePoint have never given me these issues. I do not recommend using their chargers.

Quality has declined
The app doesn’t accurately show which machines are broken. The progress of the charge sometimes doesn’t show. The price doesn’t show most of the time. The app is pretty much useless if your navigation can find chargers. You can start the machine with your RFID card. Sometimes the app won’t let you order one or register your car. I registered my car on the app and after the update, it was removed. The app is useless. Customer service is useless except for remote resets when the machines aren’t working. But they will literally blame everything and tell you to go to another charger before they get the will to work and press the buttons.
Every single time I try to use an EVgo charger, there’s always a problem. I have to call customer service and they have to reset the charger. The app should state clearly which machines are working or not, but they don’t.
Customer service is horrendous. They ask first if there is $ in your account and then second, they say there is a problem with your car. They do this because they are too lazy to initiate a reset. But it’s 100% their machines every time. I don’t know who is training these people as I know they are overseas mostly in the Philippines, but they are extremely rude and lazy. After resetting the machine they always say this never happens. Every time. I always tell them THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I USE EVGO! They forget about call logs and call recording. The lack of accountability from this company is astounding. I have used several machines from Oakland to San Francisco, to Redwood City, it is always the same.
I only used EVgo 4 times this month, and it’s a pain every time. I had to plug in to 3 machines just to finally find one that works. The app had them all marked as available and working.
I never have this problem at Jolt, Charge Point, or any other charging station. EVgo also charges more than all of them. The only reason I use it at all is because there is one at the library. I would avoid EVgo if you are in a nice area. Seems like the only people raving about it have no options. EVgo charges me about $5 to charge my car while Charge Point is $2.77 and I have never had any problem with them, never had to call customer service, and their chargers work as soon as you plug it in. No delays like EVgo.

Auto charge
Took several trips for me to be able to set my auto charge because lack of knowledge from operator. These jobs should not be outsourced to someone in another country that has no knowledge of doing their job !

Do NOT believe the likely bot-generated five-star reviews: my experiences with these chargers have easily been the worst of any that I have encountered.
Not only do they take advantage of EV owners stuck with no other option by demanding all of their personal information and data in order to simply charge their car, but they also charge exorbitantly high fees compared to other chargers of their speed and caliber. Not to mention the app repeatedly demands through push notifications that you fork over more cash.
The infrastructure that their product relies on is poor as well: regardless of the charger that you choose, it WILL take multiple attempts to get it to connect correctly, and you won’t see comparable speeds to other fast chargers. If you are at a rest stop or require a charge, prioritize any other chargers available. You will not regret that decision.

App is not user-friendly
Very hard to use this app it will not let me put a payment method in nor does it give me the option to order an RF ID card I followed the directions and there's no option given

The map on this is inferior and hard to use compared to the map on PlugShare, so I always need to use both apps instead of just this one. Hopefully this issue can be improved.

The app is supposed to tell you how much you’re getting charged and the amount of energy you’re pulling but it doesn’t do that. The app only provides locations of chargers, whether they’re in use, and what percentage of charge you’ve reached. Luckily, it does show transactions so, you can check there.

Go ahead and place a card in your EVgo account and agree to auto charge that way all you do is plug in and watch it start charging! That simple….
