User reviews

Not the fastest, but

Fair pricing, and very reliable. I’ve never arrived and a space hasn’t been open. Fair pricing, I can normally charge from 10-80% for less than $15.

Completely Busted

Every single time I attempt to charge it asks me to enter a payment method (which I already have done) and does not let me proceed to charge my car. I am TRYING to give you my money and being prevented from doing so. Absolutely unacceptable performance.

Response from developer

We apologize for the inconvenience. We identified and fixed a bug that was affecting a small number of new customers. Please reach out to our support team with any other questions: support@evmatch.com.

Trashola

No information on where charging stations are located or how to access them. The one I wanted to use appears to be someone’s house? Claiming it’s available at 4am?

Customer support never got back to me

My car stopped charging around 60%. I tried to contact customer service several times and they never got back to me. They say someone should get back to you in a few hours, but it’s been over a day and no response at all.

Response from developer

We're also sorry that our response time did not meet your expectations. While we strive to respond to support requests as quickly as possible, we recognize that waiting more than a day for assistance is disappointing. Charging interruptions can occur for a variety of reasons, including vehicle settings, charger communication issues, or site-specific conditions. We'd appreciate the opportunity to review the session details and determine what happened. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback helps us improve both our charging experience and customer support.

buggy mess after redesign

app hardly works feels so vibe coded.
i try to charge my car but it cancels randomly. the fees don’t cancel and i get charged for whole hold price instead of what i charged for. stupid app. i had to message customer support 3 times to get my credit back. on multiple occasions. never using this service again.

Response from developer

We're sorry to hear about your experience. Unexpected session cancellations and delays in releasing authorization holds can be frustrating, and we understand why that led to a poor experience. The temporary hold placed at the start of a charging session is not a charge and should automatically adjust to reflect the actual session cost once processing is complete. However, we recognize that when holds are not released promptly, it can feel like you've been incorrectly charged. We appreciate that you contacted support and regret that it took multiple interactions to resolve. We've shared your feedback with our team as we continue improving charging reliability and payment processing.

FAQ

What does EVmatch do?

EVmatch provides a peer-to-peer network for finding and reserving private electric vehicle charging stations. It allows EV drivers to access charging locations not typically listed on other apps and enables hosts to share their own charging stations for income.

How can I find a charging station?

You can find charging stations by using the EVmatch electric vehicle charging station map. You can filter by connector type, charging speed, availability, price, and even instant booking. Some stations also have a Charger ID for quick booking.

How does EVmatch make money?

The app is free to use for drivers and hosts do not pay sign-up fees. Monetization comes from in-app purchases where drivers can load their wallet with credit to pay for charging sessions. The app also has ads.

Is EVmatch compatible with all electric vehicles?

Yes, the app is designed for all electric vehicles, including popular models like Tesla, Nissan LEAF, Chevrolet Bolt EV, and many others. It supports various charging connector types such as J1772 and Tesla connectors.

What are the benefits of hosting a charging station?

By sharing your electric car charging station, you can earn extra money and help more people drive electric cars. You control the price and availability, and can even convert your earnings into credit for charging your own EV.
