Slow
Parts of this app are great. It plays fairly large FLAC files instantly and offers a nice set of features, although I would like a Folder view. Unfortunately, it takes about 10 seconds to open an album (any album) when NOT in offline mode, thus rendering the app unusable, which is rather disappointing. I’m not sure what’s happening during those 10 seconds, as my container is completely idle and the Wi-Fi from my phone to container is 1Gbps (fast.com just reported 1.1Gbps from my iPhone somehow).

Lightweight and clean
No bloat or “AI” features no one asked for, just a straight forward app for playing music from Jellyfin.
A few updates would be fire
Fire app but favoriting is suuuper unreliable. It would be nice if the player would remember what was last playing too. AM and Spotify recall music even if the app is closed and that feature would be really nice since listening through is difficult unless done in a sitting. Also, the songs tab should have All songs in the server, not just ones that aren’t in an album folder since shuffling through an entire library is nice.

Can’t download individual songs
Jellyfin seems to have a bug where the album sorting doesn’t work in 10.11.x so I can’t get metadata tagging to apply songs to an album. Real shame that we can’t download individual songs for offline mode that’s the only thing preventing this from being 5 stars!
Please add autoplay for Songs
Awesome app. Just wanted to write this review to hopefully get auto play in the Songs section. Currently when you select a specific song and then it ends, it stops and nothing plays after until you manually pick the next song. If autoplay could be incorporated here that would be wonderful !
Good app small bugs
This is a great app for playing music stored on my Jellyfin server. It works much better than the Jellyfin app for playing music. The main advantage has unlike the official Jellyfin app is that continues playing when you put the phone down and the screen locks. The minor bug is with the off-line mode! It downloads and plays MP3 files perfectly. The problem is I have ripped all my CDs in Apple lossless using iTunes. Unfortunately, the app appears to download these files, but I’m not sure it actually does and it certainly does not play them off-line.

Huge thank you
You are my hero for putting this together. How can we support your work?
Fantastic - but missing features.
Title sums it up. Very useful and great app. However I couldn’t leave a 5 star review in good conscience because there is tons of room to improve.
Metadata is the biggest hurdle to overcome. Once you have all your files metadata filled out, Finamp becomes 75-80% of Spotify, minus the bs that nobody asked for. Using something like MusicBrainz Picard should make this relatively simple.
What I like:
-No ads, no bloat, just music.
-User Interface is beautiful.
-Transcoding support.
-Playlist support / shuffle support, all playback features you would expect from a music player.
However, I feel the following features are missing and would be a welcome addition to Finamp.
-Adaptive bitrate
-controlling other devices playback on LAN also using Finamp.(audio from device one, control on device two similar to Spotify “connect” feature.)
-in app EQ
-song crossfading with granular control, ie 1s-10s crossfading
Otherwise, Finamp is a pleasure to use and is a great self-hosted replacement for Spotify. Thank you for your contribution to the self hosting community.

Quite buggy
Many bugs don’t seem to get fixed.
Oh it seems abandoned.

Great app but…
It’s a great app but still long way to go to compete with Plexamp, it needs Folder search , eq, transcoding only limited to 320kbps etc. I don’t see where to donate.
Close but no cigar
Finamp is brilliant in that it connects to your Jellyfin server. However, the app crashes 20 to 30 seconds into playing any song. If your music player cannot play music, I think it’s time to pack it up.
doesnt play most music
useless
Main feature doesn't exist anymore?
I used to love using the TestFlight version of Finamp, but I upgraded to the App Store version and now all of the buttons to download any music for offline play are gone. The option to downlad simply doesn't appear anymore.
edit: I found it, it's in the artists section still but a bunch of the old download buttons are still gone

Works perfectly! Minor note
It would be nice to have the option to prefer streaming direct on WiFi and transcoding audio on mobile but other than that this is the best music player for jellyfin I found!

Better than the native Jellyfin player
Really good, a lot better than the native Jellyfin music player. My only note is that I can’t seem to put the player in landscape mode at all. Other than that, I appreciate the work put into this!

Basically perfect.
My only suggestion would be to add a donation button somewhere in the app.
Great for music
This is much better for Jellyfin music than using the normal Jellyfin iOS app. It’s a great player for those who need something better for their Jellyfin music library
Good Jellyfin Musicplayer
Finamp is a good Jellyfin music player. As a feature request, please add support for CarPlay and an automatic download of the latest music added to the library.
