My favorite offline player!
I’ve tried several offline audio player apps, but Pentaton is hands down my favorite. Music sounds absolutely fantastic. I love all the EQ settings and the super clean UI design. Bravo! Purchasing the lifetime access was an easy decision!
Great features (Playlists! comprehensive EQ!) but needs polish
This might be (one of?) the only “offline” or “local” music player that actually supports playlist files (eg. .m3u files).
Feedback: The UI is still a bit janky in places. This includes
* rare glitches (eg. pressing “edit sections” a few times sometimes causes the app to freeze)
* unintuitive design - swiping the playback bar to go to prev/next track works the opposite from most other apps (with no option to invert controls)
Otherwise, this is a great tool for anyone who
* doesn’t want to be locked into a streaming service
* is tired of iTunes randomly obliterating playlists during sync
* wants to build a platform-agnostic, interoperable music library, that can be copied between desktop and mobile devices (without going through a laborious import/export process), is usable from most standard music players, & is entirely under their control

It was my fault
It’s now working as it should. Thank you very much for the quick and friendly support – I’m happy to pay for it.

Hey Alain, I'd very interested to learn what didn't work for you. hello@pentaton.app
Very nice - but expensive
Foobar2000 stopped working after the latest update - so i needed something that just works to play offline music - this music player works very nicely but it’s expensive
I was ready to take out a subscription
I was hoping for a good listening experience. But my frustration with an app that doesn’t work properly outweighs that. I also use Doppler, which recognises my library instantly, even when a new album is added. Pentaton doesn’t. When the app does work, it’s an incredible listening experience, but that happens very rarely. Perhaps it’s down to nearly 60 GB of FLAC, AAC and a few MP3 files. But actually, that shouldn’t be a problem – other apps like Doppler manage it too, except that Doppler doesn’t offer Hi-Fi or an EQ. Most folders also contain a cover image, which the app unfortunately doesn’t display either.
