useless unless you pay

I’ve used this app for a long time, and it’s completely useless now. Everything used to be free and now you can’t even look at the map or see more details without paying $5 a month. I’ll find somewhere else to get my information.

Pay plan

Why hide everything behind a pay wall when you can just fill your app with ads. I’d rather just see ads. We’ll be deleting until fixed

Recent Update

Removed recall map access for non-paying users and added a worthless AI chatbot instead. I get you need money to keep up the app, so maybe don't pay out the behind for unnecessary features that add nothing of value?

Paywall garbage

Used to be great and free… now all the good features are behind an absurdly high paywall. Don’t download.

Not free

No longer free. Useless app because you can’t see any details about the recalls

COSTS MONEY

Not the developers fault.. they are by far the best and I relied on them for safety.. they needed gov funding and gov said no.. they should ask the new admin.

Paywall & excuses

I understand that the team is small but to paywall both product specifics and location information is going to result in people getting hurt. You have shot your own app in the foot. People would’ve excused ads, there was no in app attempts to fundraise that were ever apparent, there is a lot people would’ve permitted, but claiming to have an app to save lives only to have started to paywall the most important information is ridiculous. You might’ve historically helped people but you certainly will not be continuing to do so in the way you claim in your responses to critical reviews.

Sad to see this app turn to the same bs everything else is.

Must have app

This is fantastic wish food recalls would never happen but I’m glad there is an app to let you know. This help help me determine what was making me sick with the Boars Head deli meat. Saved my life

App Blocked by Paywall

Do not waste your time with this app. In order to see ANYTHING on the app, you have to subscribe. This app is meant to help save lives from food recalls! But instead, it seems like they only care about making money. This app should be free!

Used to be good

Now everything is behind a paywall. So ridiculous to have to pay for safety information.

Not a Free App

Displays nothing useful without a subscription.

Get this app for peace of mind!!

I downloaded this app to keep up to date on all the pet food recalls during the bird flu outbreak, but it has been so much more helpful than I ever expected! I feel so much more confident when buying products because I know I'm up to date on all the current recalls. And if I'm worried about a product, it's super easy to search on the app to see if there are any recalls on it. Every recall that I have heard about has been listed on the app. I find it super helpful that it shows pictures of the products and the states that have been affected. I also love that it has a separate section for pet related recalls! This is definitely in the top five most important apps on my phone. I'm so glad I found it!

Ruined by paywalling

For an app whose motto is “keeping you and your loved ones safe” it’s clear now that really all that matters to them is money, what a surprise. It used to be so helpful and probably did save lives, now corporate greed has made the app unusable without a subscription. Insane.

Paywall + Nondescriptive

Sometimes says "and others" while listing out grocery stores of said recalled item which is just unhelpful. Paywalls access to states which the item got recalled in.

Doesn’t Work

This app used to be extremely helpful but now you open it and see a black screen. They ruined it with the paywall feature. Will be deleting.

Money hungry

This app used to be a great resource for public health awareness. Now they’ve made it so you can’t read a single recall without a paid subscription.

Public Safety Shouldn’t Be Paywalled

This app built its reputation by helping people avoid contaminated food and dangerous products. Now? It’s just another bait-and-switch. You took a tool meant to protect public health and shoved it behind a paywall.

Let’s be clear: food recall data is public. You didn’t create it—you aggregated it. And now you’re charging users for access to their own safety? Blaming “funding issues” and name-dropping the FDA doesn’t make this right—it just makes it look worse.

Plenty of apps survive using ads, donations, or optional upgrades. Instead, you locked essential health alerts behind a subscription, then tried to spin it as necessary. It’s not. It’s a choice—a deliberate, greedy one.

If you have any integrity left, bring back free access to critical recall alerts. Support the app with ads or paid extras if you must—but don’t hold public safety hostage for profit.

Immediately asks you to upgrade once you open the app

As the title says, there's a pop up the moment you open the app. It is very pervasive and makes me want to google the information rather than rely on the app.

Paywalls Diminish Experience for this App

Over the past several months, recall info has become increasingly limited due to paywalls.
