My Health Journey: Integrative Nutrition + Traditional Medicine

My Health Journey: Integrative Nutrition + Traditional Medicine

I’ve lost 28 pounds and, more importantly, I’ve gained hope.

The first 23 pounds came from reducing inflammation and excess water by returning to real, nutrient-dense foods. About 15 pounds came off in the first month before I ever started semaglutide.

Five weeks ago, under my physician’s supervision, I added a compounded semaglutide with B12 and glycine to support my ongoing weight-loss journey. Since then, I’ve lost another 7 pounds. I’m happy to have found an approach that combines traditional medicine with the principles of integrative nutrition that have become so important to me.

Over the past decade, my body has endured a great deal: adenomyosis, fibroids, hernias, an appendectomy, esophageal surgery, toxicity, gallbladder removal, joint injuries, chronic inflammation, and a torn meniscus. Each challenge affected my mobility, my health, and eventually my weight.

In May 2026, I could barely walk for two weeks until I received a cortisone injection. An MRI confirmed a torn meniscus. Years of sports and activity likely contributed to normal wear and tear, but the inflammation throughout my body made everything worse. Within just three months, I gained 18 pounds.

For years, I was frustrated. I exercised consistently. I completed Beachbody programs. I reversed my prediabetes through real food and lifestyle changes, yet I remained stuck at 189 pounds. Then I broke several ribs, developed gallbladder disease, and my weight eventually climbed to 218 pounds.

Today, I’m back to 190 pounds, and I feel better than I have in years.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that weight isn’t the whole story. I’ve always carried my weight evenly and maintained a good amount of muscle, so the number on the scale never told the complete picture. My goal isn’t to become “skinny.” My goal is to reduce excess body fat while preserving muscle to support healthy bones, joints, and long-term mobility.

Nutrition remains the foundation. I believe both overeating and chronic under-eating can work against us over time. Being nutrient deficient is a very real issue, especially after years of processed foods, illness, or surgery. I choose to test for deficiencies and supplement only when needed instead of taking products I don’t need. For me, that’s safer, more effective, and more cost-conscious.

My family history also motivates me. In 2019, I lost my sister. Seven years earlier, she had received a liver transplant due to fatty liver disease. That experience changed how I view metabolic health and the importance of taking action before disease progresses.

Today, my plan includes:

* A 16:8 fasting schedule
* Nutrient-dense whole foods following an 80/20 lifestyle
* Strength-focused movement to preserve muscle
* Physician-supervised semaglutide with B12 and glycine
* Integrative nutrition principles tailored to my body’s needs

I don’t believe there’s one perfect path for everyone. I encourage people to research their options, work with qualified healthcare professionals, and find the approach that’s right for them.

I’ve also learned that slow, sustainable progress is worth celebrating.

As a teenager, I weighed 119 pounds.
In my late twenties, I was around 138.
After my son was born, I weighed 159.
In my forties, I weighed 179 and wore a size 4 because I carried a significant amount of muscle.

I’ve realized that health isn’t about chasing a specific number.

It’s about becoming the healthiest version of yourself.

That belief inspired me to write my book, Calm With Quiet Wisdom, and my guide, Ultimate Guide to 135: It’s Only a Number.

Because in the end, the number on the scale isn’t the goal.

Living well is.

Hidden fees

My subscription cost repeatedly increased due to changes in medication which were made mandatory because Found stopped offering my specific brand and/or dosing. Practitioners are unresponsive and the app itself is unintuitive.

Scam

You’re advertising and app are deceiving. You make it seem like the first month including the medicine is $50. I feel scammed. I’m not paying another $150. Waste of time, hope, etc. Customer service is terrible. Stole my money.

SCAM DO NOT DOWNLOAD

I just downloaded this and it will not let me use the app. I’ve tried all options ( 3) to log in 15 times each and it keeps kicking me back to the login page.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS SCAM APP!

Double charged

I was inactive for one month and didn’t receive any medication and they still charged me the $199 monthly fee. So just be aware, that monthly fee is basically for using the app. Not the medication you receive.
