This app does not followed meter fares in taxis despite saying the trip is based on the taxi metered rate. We had a trip in Naples that the metered rate was 9.8 and we were charged 27.5 euros. Brutal. Do not use and avoid using this app!!!
“Agree to all “ stinky button
When signing up it has checkboxes to disagree / agree to things like advertising. The button at the bottom makes it look like it’s “next” when it was phrased as “agree to all” - meaning even though items like advertising were left unticked, click “agree to all” button meant that you silently agreed to all the things you thought you hadn’t agreed to. This absolutely disrespects customers and is bordering on fraud

Scam wait times dont even bother
App is a complete scam. Baits you with 10min wait times them adjusts up to 45minutes. You are better to walk. Wildly deceptive

I got scammed on my very first ride, came to Italy for our honeymoon and had a very important dinner reservation so I pre booked a ride because I didn’t want to rely on a regular taxi, however after booking the ride and being charged €30 we were shocked to see the driver leave as we were walking to his car. We were close enough for him to initiate the ride and he literally started the ride and left without us. We watched his pin on the map in disbelief as he drove all the way to our destination without us in the car. Being left with no other choice we got a taxi the old fashioned way, and even with “tourist pricing” it was only €16 for a 12 minute ride. So this app charged us DOUBLE and didn’t even take us. we escalated the matter with customer service and they said there’s nothing they can do. Fellow Americans beware, this app protects the drivers that scam you.

Got charged an incorrect cancellation fee after waiting for nearly an hour. Been trying to dispute it for 3 weeks now and you can never speak to someone. Have sent multiple complaints and had zero replies. Joke customer service. Terrible app. Drivers just cancel on you for higher fares and they don’t get charged for cancelling. Don’t use them

Little a little about Athens on the way gave us some great tips of where to go even left. Something in the cab called him and he got it back to us. A true gentleman.!!

Meet Spot
As a 66 yr old man, I called for serice and was asked to meet the driver at a location determined by your app. I could not locate the vehicle. The driver reached by phone but I was unanle to reach the vehicle before getting a mandatory $5 charge. I’ve used Lyft and Uber in the past and both services have found my location without me moving an inch. I’ll probably use your services again but will look to the others first to avoid me relocating for a driver advantage.

Misleading pricing
The app can propose the black cab when regular driver accepts and rejects, while it does so, it suggests a total trip cost too. However, actual price can be 4x if not 6x of originally advertised. We had to exit mid way through, and find alternative means of travel.
Appalling tourist exploitation & refusal of cash refunds
Do not trust this app, especially if you are traveling. My friend and I (two young female tourists, one of us diagnosed autistic and ADHD) used Freenow in Milan believing it was a safe, fair, and reliable service. Instead, we were repeatedly taken advantage of by drivers deliberately inflating fares above the physical taximeter.
On one booking, the meter read €27.10, but the driver manually typed €50 into the app to overcharge us by €25.90. On another booking, a driver manually overcharged us by €8. When we reported this, Freenow support acknowledged driver misconduct in writing, yet completely refused to refund our money to our original payment card. Instead, they tried forcing us to accept expiring in-app vouchers for a service we do not use at home.
Taking advantage of tourists and neurodivergent customers who trust their platform—and holding onto stolen funds under the guise of "company policy"—is shameful. Avoid this app at all costs!

Driver picked up sb else
The driver made a mistake by picking somebody else, yet still charged for the trip. There is no response from FreeNow after repeated inquiries about this charge. I have to dispute the charge with credit card company. This is unacceptable.

Idk about the taxis anywhere else but in Rome they pull up super quick 🤣 also this cheaper than uber and easy to use
Not a great first impression
I used this app to call a taxi driver in Barcelona. The app set the pickup spot to our exact location. When the taxi driver finally “arrived”, he parked a block away and did not communicate with us. By the time we walked to where the map showed our driver was, he cancelled the ride, and we were given a 5€ fee. Completely useless, feels like this is just a way for taxi drivers to scam tourists out of money. The app’s support was a bot that was not helpful at all
