Great for endurance athletes
This app is one of the best apps I’ve found for helping me figure out how to fuel for training and racing endurance races. It’s still sorting out some occasional hiccups but the upgrades have been great and the developers are very responsive.
Has Bugs that need fixing
Not the greatest app when it comes to coming up with nutrition for an athlete. I will try it a little longer but likely cancel soon as it needs help.
New Approach to Tracking
I would definitely recommend the app for people who are looking to maximize their performance in training without the commitment to a nutritionist.
The App offers the option for actual consultation sessions with nutritionist too.

Indispensable app for those who take their health seriously
Fuelin has become indispensable in my health and cycling journey. As a 67 years old master cyclist who is overweight, Fuelin is an indispensable tool not just to track what I eat but to know how to properly fuel my body to be successful in my sport.
One of the hardest things to do when you are trying to lose weight while building fitness is to know what to eat. I love that Fuelin suggest what should I eat for each meal when I am training or racing. And if I have one ingredient, let say a chicken breast, Fuelin builds a recipe around that ingredient that perfectly matches the macros for that meal.
Because Fuelin syncs with Training Peaks it knows when my races are and creates a plan for carbo loading for the week of the race.

Interface stops working immediately upon cancellation
I am still in the middle of a month that was paid for, but was on the fence about continuing a $30/month subscription and pre-emptively cancelled in the middle of the month to avoid getting charged next month when I really hadn’t yet made up my mind about how useful the app was going to be for me. Immediately, the app lost functionality to interface with my Garmin workouts and won’t refresh data.
I also hadn’t been in love with challenges using Lose It to log nutrition data and having that interface with Apple Health and then sync with Fuelin via that avenue, because it lead to incorrect macro data showing up in the Fuelin app.
If I was on the fence before about continuing the subscription, the abrupt failure of a service that I have paid for for a couple of more weeks to continue working for me had cinched the deal.

Good on paper but annoying
Fuelin is a really good idea, and I think it could be a great product, but the execution is poor. There are several issues with the software that make it difficult to justify paying for it.
One of the biggest problems is how inconsistently it handles calories around workouts. For example, you can wake up in the morning and Fuelin tells you that you have 3,800 calories available for the day based on your planned workout. You then complete that workout, and say the workout is supposed to last 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you finish 1 hour and 29 minutes, Fuelin can suddenly drop your daily calorie target from 3,800 to 3,000, a completely unreasonable 800 calorie reduction. If you had simply stayed on the bike for another minute, you would apparently have received the full calorie allowance. There is no meaningful reason why a one minute difference should result in such a dramatic change.
This highlights a larger problem with Fuelin: it feels like there is too much reliance on an AI driven system and not enough human judgment. The concept of using AI to personalize nutrition is interesting, but when the system makes decisions that seem this arbitrary, it becomes frustrating rather than helpful.
The app also feels like it has very little human care behind it unless you're willing to pay the additional, extremely expensive fee to work with their actual nutrition coaches. The software itself should be providing a level of thoughtful guidance that makes the user feel like someone actually understands the context of their training.
At around $100 a year, Fuelin isn't outrageously expensive, but it's still more money than I would personally spend on it in its current state. The idea is genuinely good and I can see what they're trying to accomplish. Unfortunately, the execution just isn't there yet. With better logic, more consistency, and more meaningful human oversight, Fuelin could be a great product. Right now, though, it feels like a promising idea that hasn't been executed particularly well.

Performance changing
The first week using this app completely changed my performance in competitive gravel cycling.
I have always struggled with Under fueling and questioned why I was not able to increase my mileage and performance.
Now I am able to push my body further and recover faster with proper nutrition numbers.
Also has saved me a lot of time that was wasted trying to think of something to eat or what to buy at the grocery store.
Only thing I would ask differently is a change up of recipe recommendations.

Wouldn't recommend for marathoners
I downloaded the app to help do a double check on my fueling in peak marathon training. I was disappointed to see that even with a performance fueling setting , the protein requirements were well above standard recommendations (2.2g/kG+ vs 1.6-2) and carbs were low!! This is setting up marathoners for low energy availability. For example, it suggested I only have 30g carbs after a 13 mile run with 45 min tempo workout which is far too low. I would not recommend for marathon runners.

Needs better integration
I use Garmin Connect with my Garmin watch for tracking everything as well as the Runna app for marathon training. I’m really enjoying the Fuelin app but it is really annoying and frustrating that I have to manually input every planned workout instead of Fuelin pulling that information from either Runna or my Garmin calendar. Runna pushes my planned workouts to Garmin but for some reason Fuelin isn’t able to grab that information. I also use an AI coach called Rest or Train that has all of my info from Runna and Garmin. Fuelin has a great concept but still lots of work to do in the integration department! It also seems glitchy when entering my upcoming runs/workouts. In the beginning I wasn’t able to enter planned mileage but Fuelin was able to fix that problem. Now I’m having trouble getting dates to “stick”. I have to enter the date several times in the process of adding the manual activity or it just reverts back to today’s date. Very annoying.

Not just a fixed meal plan
I love how Fuelin adjusts to my training and daily fluctuations. It helps ensure that I meet my energy needs for my cycling. It’s not just a meal plan, it’s basically a coach in your pocket available 24/7.
Definitely recommend if you want to improve your performance and also manage body composition. Remove the guess work and trust the process

Misleading free trial
It gave me a free trial option. I tried it for a day and it wasn’t for me. I went to cancel my trial. It took me several questions and then it said I had to cancel it in my app subscription. I had none in my apps and I kept checking it. A week later it billed me. This time it gave me an option to cancel in my billing portal (which wasn’t available during the free trial).

Fuelin
This is a great app but it’s a bit confusing and maybe a tad complicated when you start using it. You have to invest a far bit of time watching all the videos and tutorials
No free version
I don’t have a problem with this being a premium app, but you should probably explain that at some point before you have people sign up and share their personal information. Seems like a way to just harvest personal information.
Almost Great
My main hesitation with this app is that my training plan in Final Surge does not sync to Fuelin until after the workout is complete, which then recalculates everything for the rest of the day. I thought that it would sync before in order to fuel properly before and during. It also wasn’t clear the options of AI or working with a human. Maybe this is beginner user error, but it’s not quite what I was expecting. I’ve used several macro apps, and this is basically the same as all the others. It may be a different story in the higher plan that pairs you with a human, but I don’t have the budget for that right now. I guess you get what you pay for!

It works, getting results, app is improving
Issues with Fuelin:
Can’t change sleep and wake times so when my actual workouts upload everything is thrown off.
Doesn’t save favorites across different meal types.
Often can not process what is journaled and get error messages.
Lots of bar codes give errors.
The recommended recipes are non specific to the meal macros, few have matched my recommended macros
Food journal is improving but takes longer to use compared to programs I’ve used in the past.
Only cool feature is the macros adjusted to your workouts. It’s made a huge difference and I’ve had results.

Making nutrition fun!!
As a runner, data is gold and I can never get enough of it!! I was a MFP user but have transitioned to Fuelin and it is a game changer!!!! The smart meals are GOAT and telling it what ingredients I have and it telling me how much of what to weigh to hit my macros is awesome!! I’m not making meals anymore with a scrap bit of paper with figures and equations scribbled all over it! AND I am feeling STRONG!!! There is no afternoon slump because I am so much more aware of timing for meals. I was very much a ‘protein’ focused girlie and I didn’t realise how little carbs I was consumed until it was in my face! Huge wake up call and probably great timing because I’m sure an injury was imminent… THANK YOU FUELIN!!

Great tracker
I know I’m am eating enough for my training which eases my mind.
10 minutes wasted into a pay wall
Marathoners: don’t waste your ten minutes like I did.
They push you through a long quiz first, capture all your data, and then nonchalantly hit you with a $29/month paywall. No trial. Not even one screen of the actual app.
I was very motivated to get with the program. I’m mid-training block and ready to invest in my nutrition. But I was let down by how the mechanics of this work: pay to play before you’ve heard a single note of the tune.
Instead of a nutrition plan I got a quiz and a checkout page, and they got all my data for free. Frustrating to say the least.

Dangerously flawed
Shockingly bad. The carb recommendations after over an hour of max effort is zero and for the day below starvation levels even on ‘standard’ weight loss mode. The carbs actually are higher on aggressive mode. This is appalling and dangerous. So many other things wrong with it I don’t have time to write them. The food logging is easy. That’s it.
