Reporting
Apparently my reports don’t count. I’ve reported the price for a station four times today and it always goes back to the old price.
App stuck
Constantly get stuck on the loading screen it won’t open. I have the card through them and I’ll but I can never use it and when I go online, it makes me get a link through my email that just takes me to the app that won’t open wish I wouldn’t have wasted my time.
App not downloading
Why is this app not downloading to my phone? I have to look it up on the App Store to use it.
Never accurate
Literally never accurate, so what’s the point?
CarPlay
The app needs CarPlay integration. I will not hold my phone while driving to report gas prices. By the time I reach my destination I either forgot about reporting gas prices or don’t care anymore. Make reporting gas prices more conducive by making it work with CarPlay.
This App is Bogus
I have been using this app for a few months and finally earned enough for a $10.00 Visa gift card. I redeemed my points and got a confirmation. I then received a second email to verify the reward. Then nothing and I do mean nothing. I emails support and got a response and then after saying it would be looked into the issue. I never heard anything back and did not receive the gift card. It was a huge waste of my time when they do not pay out and do not respond to support emails.

App WILL NOT OPEN
09/13/2026 I already had the Gas Buddy app, but it will not open. I checked the App Store and found an update available. I got the update, but the app STILL WON’T OPEN.
I’m not the only one to report this issue as part of an App Store Review. I see a review as far back as March 2026 noting the same. What is the issue? My iPhone 12 Pro has the most recent version of iOS. Is my phone too old to be supported for Gas Buddy’s app updates?

Data Sold to Insurance Companies?
Is it true that GasBuddy sells our data to insurance companies?

They never show the correct gas prices for no station always have wrong prices

Tracks Your Driving
This app tracks your driving. Allstate was using them to do this and are getting sued in TX.
Don’t bother
Gas buddy doesn’t offer the discounts it use too. My app shows higher prices than my partner’s app. 75% of the time, I don’t see any discounts or rewards. App won’t work in certain areas. No matter how many times I click on activate, it won’t. At this point, it is better to have the rewards directly from the gas stations.

Spying on You
See Texas vs Allstate for how this app has been collecting data on your driving, selling this data to data brokers and then going straight to your insurance company. Passengers? Collecting data on you also. See the lawsuit. Also, the app is super glitchy.

I just found out GB shares or sells customer data to all state….probably other insurance companies. Hell no, not mine.
Goodbye GasBuddy
I’ve had this installed for so long that I never considered the implications of all the data that this app collects, but now we know that this app(and several others) are selling our data to big insurance. Basically reporting your location, driving habits, etc to these companies. Look…. I realize that it takes money to operate something like this, and I certainly don’t mind watching a few ads or answering surveys, but when it comes to spying on users and selling sensitive information that they probably weren’t aware was being collected, I’m out. I have no problem with any developer that’s trying to make a buck, but what is going on here just goes to show that GasBuddy isn’t really about helping people save money, but it’s about making money, no matter how underhanded or sleazy it may be. Just a sign of the times I suppose….

Promoted Price Lying
I report only Regular fuel prices as that’s what I use and I report 87 prices at many stations near where Im getting gas as a service for others. Since Im in rural area fewer reports exist so I try to help by reporting what most folks use but I get no points benefit because Gas Buddy only awards points if you report priced all types of gas of gas sold by a station. Cant even see that unless i drive up to the disel pump. Only way to get points would to make up disel price.
