Nothing works anymore.

Not only did you end support for the Gen 1 units but now the app doesn’t connect to the multiple units I own.

FIX THIS NOW !!!

App not working at all.

App no longer showing my units. Please fix this now!

Reviewer $moki is spot on

The app didn’t connect, then finally did, then it seemed to operate the unit correctly, then it didn’t and hasn’t in a long time. It’s July 2025, $moki’s review “Junk app” is a year old, and everything described is accurate. I can’t get the unit to turn on and cool, not with the app, the control on the unit, unplugging and replugging, etc. The schedule in the app looks fine, and I even get pop up notifications on my phone when it’s supposed to turn on and off. The manual controls on the dial, as weird as they are, also seem fine when I try to run it manually. Sometimes tbs fan turns on for a minute if I’m lucky. I can’t get the thing to cool by any means and it’s hot in the summer.

Overall good

Overall, the app works the way that is should. It was a little buggy in the beginning, but there have been some improvement over time. However, I do lose connection, but think this is more to do with my WiFi network more than the App.

Crap

The app is completely useless. When I was able to pair it (briefly) it was confusing. Now it doesn’t pair or find my WiFi. To be honest the whole product is pretty crappy. Definitely not worth the extremely high price tag. The manual control dial is confusing and half the time I don’t know if it’s on or off. Problems started immediately and since the app doesn’t work we’ve only ever had success using the manual functions. So that precludes any of the schedules and techy stuff they advertise. Another annoying feature is it only seems able to do a “smart” setting. Meaning the unit is constantly turning on and off, which is disruptful for sleeping.

Honestly, I love the idea, but so far this has been a waste of money and annoyance in our home. It does look nicer than the old school window ac. But seems like the ambitious tech isn’t there yet. And for a manual window ac device it’s not as strong or effective as a $300-$400 Home Depot unit.

Bummer.

Junk app

The app seems like the easiest part of this advanced technology, but it’s awful. I can pair my heat pump easier than others, but setting up a schedule for 2 or 5 days per week (weekday or weekend) effectively kills the AC from working in the AZ summer.

AC is on manually as needed, a cooling schedule event starts (tried “smart mode” first and then “cool mode” later because I don’t know what “smart” refers to-heat or cool?), and then the AC function stops while the fan continues. The AC can be restarted manually with the physical dial, but it frequently defaults back to the busted schedule after some unknown period. None of the flips between manual and schedule modes come with mobile notifications. It would important to notify that sort of transition.

2nd beef: Changing or deleting schedules is not possible. The app spins and then it times out with an error. I have to disconnect and reconnect with Wi-Fi to clear schedules and make some new schedule attempt.

3rd beef (hardware, not the app): Give me 2 or 3 physical buttons on the unit. The user dial clicks to switch the setting mode and spins to change the selection. It’s not possible to see all the operating data on the dial at once. The info is in the app on one screen, but it’s not clear if the unit is operating manually or inside of a schedule (a broken schedule that fails to cool).

Next summer I bet I offer this to a tenant and we go to a central system. A final decision comes after some winter months.

Bring back fan control

I have faith that users would love the fan control back. The fact that you can’t select up, down, sweep etc. is a bummer.

Mostly works

As others have posted, it can be a bit buggy, but after some recent updates I think it works pretty well now.

Won’t set time zone

Install my Gradient and the app. Got them to pair, however, cannot get the app to set the time zone, therefore, my schedule won’t work. I’ve tried reloading, rebooting, turning my phone on and off and all that. Still doesn’t work. Frustrating.

Won’t pair

Just got my gradient 3/2023 and have the same issue as the first reviewer. After pairing the app doesn’t finish and says device is not found. I tried resetting the unit to factory settings and tried clearing the Wi-Fi settings and each time the app stops when trying to add the device. One week later I still haven’t heard from support. Can’t have full functionality until it’s paired which is a bummer.

Won’t pair, no app support

Installed physical gradient and gradient app; phone has all necessary software (bluetooth/wifi ios etc) and gradient was powered on. The app made it to the “name your device” stage before erroring out- now it can’t even find the device. Reset my router, bluetooth and reinstalled the app- still nothing. The app support link above goes to the gradient faq webpage which doesn’t discuss the app at all. SMH

Intuitive and easy to use

The app had an intuitive process for connecting with and controlling the Gradient heat pump. It linked to FAQs to answer questions during the process which was helpful.
