No longer using their app or service
First, I could not login because it tried to verify me with an old phone number. I couldn’t reset that login so I had to setup a new account with updated phone number. But I couldn’t login because app was stuck on phone number verification of prior account. Uninstalling did not fix this. Clearing browser data from safari was the only thing that worked.
So then I log into new account and verify license. After that, I am no longer logged in. So I try to login but cannot. I have a “Something went wrong” error. I have to contact support to understand why I get this error. They say it’s because they need one working day to verify my license?! Verification was already approved! And why would that prevent me from logging in?
This app has been a problem for years. I stopped using it for a couple of years and now I know why. I am again no longer using it. Really bad.

Extremely buggy!!
Zoom on map glitches, random white space appears, misstates true availability of cars, 2FA not sent to DE number but instantly to NL number get that API fixed, such a janky MVP application
App is just non functional. Waste of time.
I tried to use this app over the course of 2 days trying to book a car. The search would take time or never provide results. When it does clicking into the car does not allow for booking. I have restarted the app, reinstalled. Tried a different email. No change in experience. I’m glad I did not submit the deposit amount. Not worth your time. I would have perhaps given a star for a service outage status somewhere explaining issues but nowhere obvious that I could see.

Shady business practices
Use this service at your own risk. I would recommend using competitors. They will charge you unfair fees and when they do they don’t respond to any requests and threaten to send debt collectors. Just google them you’ll find countless horror stories.
You cannot sign up with specific numbers
For some reason, we couldn’t sign up because we have Australian phone numbers, despite many other random countries supported.
This should be mentioned in the app description, stating clearly that if you’re from Australia, don’t download the app.

Have they gone out of business?
Signed up for an account, provided PII and biometrics, and paid the deposit. However, there are no cars available anywhere in the Netherlands. If you close, take down the app and don’t take my money. I can’t reach anyone via customer service. Livid!

Broken now
Latest update seems to have broken the app. It will no longer load.
Useless app will ruin your day
Reserved a car but it wasn’t at the specified location (or anywhere nearby). Couldn’t get logged into the app to change to another car so now we’re stranded. Not possible to get through to customer service on the phone (line disconnected from hold). Even the email submission on their website wasn’t working. Really looking forward to sorting out the mistaken charge that will inevitably end up on my credit card.

Totally hate the app
App is a disaster. Totally unstable filters do no work, crashes and unusable on the new os. I use different car sharing now as much as i can just to avoid using this app!!

Crashes every few minutes on. Unusable app.
App is buggy
De service is prima- maar de app is slecht. Hij heeft heel veel foutmeldingen. Vandaag kan ik hem weer niet openen en het het enige wat ik kan doen is de app verwijderen, opnieuw downloaden en opnieuw proberen. Erg frustrerend.

Drains phone battery
I love Greenwheels but hate the app. It drains my phone battery within a few hours.
Payment system doesn’t work
Tried and failed to signup with two separate email addresses. Both failed at the point of payment. System errors gave no explanation to the issue.

Perfect for us. Even as primary car so far.
Seems a perfect solution for us. Its a 5min walk from our house. Whenever we needed a car, so far 5 times in the last 2 weeks (which is when we joined greenwheels), a car was available.
This experience stopped us from getting a second car. We have a car but cant drive it yet, as we brought it as part of our international move. We still have to finalize the paperwork before we can drive it. So thus far we have been using greenwheels as our primary car. Even that works for us.
The small car works perfect for short trips. For long distance, i wished we could get a bigger car. In fact, i wiuld not mind adding our own car to the greenwheels pool.

Great service. Buggy app
I love the service. Don’t get me wrong when giving them only 3 stars. That is only because they have recently revised the app and it is very buggy. Crashing often, the workflow is far from optimal and overall it should be easier to book and rebook the same cars. It’s confusing that once a trip started you still see a Open Car when actually you want to close it and return the car. All and all great service but the app needs an overhaul
