Amazing alternative to Airbnb!
People keep asking me, what’s the catch? There is no catch. It’s real people offering up their homes for free to other travelers. I like having a phone conversation with the host or traveler before approving or finalizing the exchange. I am so grateful for HomeExchange as it is allowed me to be able to afford traveling in a way that wouldn’t otherwise have been possible.

Opens up this beautiful World of ours!
I’m hooked. My first year and a bit has got off to an amazing start. I’ve had 9 sets of guests from all over and I thoroughly enjoyed having them stay and share in my little bit of paradise. To top it off I have been so fortunate to have stayed in 8 amazing homes in 8 countries. How good is that! Great community, great support. Big fan!!!

We enjoy connecting with hosts and appreciate being able to exchange homes without paying for hotels. Guest points exchanges are convenient!
Very easy to find a holiday home
Home exchange is very easy to use and great to find places to stay for a holiday, hosts are very professional and have great communication
Great system but shame about the App.
We have used this extensively however the App and
Website are rubbish. To work out how to do simple things is impossible...extend or shorten a stay etc. also if you contact Home Exchange all the options are to complain!
This system works as all the people we have had in our homes and whose homes we have stayed in are excellent as ultimately we all treat the homes as if our own and leave them tidy etc. but the central office link and App and website is rubbish. All should be easy on phone when travelling . It is not. A great shame as a good system otherwise - just poorly managed.

More Like a Rental Platform Than a Home Exchange
I was interested in this app because it is advertised as a way for people to exchange homes and experience a more affordable way to travel. However, my experience has been that many users seem more interested in using it like a rental platform or earning points rather than making genuine home exchanges. It feels like the original idea of swapping homes directly is getting lost behind a points-based system and extra costs. The concept is great, but the platform could do more to encourage true exchanges between members.

This will change your life. We've been able to double our vacation days per year because we no longer pay for lodgings when we travel- which means we save enough money every year to add vacation days. We are now able to invite our kids and grand kids along because we can find large homes to accomodate us all when in the past it would have been out of our price limit to even think of it. More

Fantastic way to travel.
If you have a lovely home to share with other owners of lovely homes, you will have the opportunity to stay in homes you would never be able to rent. Home Exchangers are exceptional guests because they know how they want their homes to be taken care of when they are hosting.

The best app for finding different places to stay
Wonderful connective organization for travelers
This was recommended to us by a friend and we have enjoyed it since. We have had many travelers to our home. And we have traveled and stayed as guests across the world. It’s so lovely to be living in someone else’s home, surrounded by their things when you in another country. It amplifies the experience rather than being a sterile hotel, which could be located anywhere in the world, including one’s own country. The guests have been so polite and respectful of our home as we have been when we have traveled. The app is simple and easy to use. We highly recommended.

We are new to the program but it is a great opportunity to travel. Especially if you have a vacation home, it is much safer than Airbnb. Only members from the group can request to stay, and you don’t have to accept every request. You build a relationship with the people via email or phone. We are just beginning stayed at a home in Idaho, had a family stay at our Tucson home. The Idaho people said help yourself to any food in the cupboard or frig. So that is what we have done as well. They even had a bottle of Idaho wine , been gave us a gift card to a local sandwich shop.
