App qui bugue et échanges très hétérogènes
Après un an d’utilisation en tant que résident à Paris, je suis très déçu du service de HE.
L’app et le site connaissent des bugs réguliers. Quand vous les subissez, le service client (injoignable par téléphone, uniquement par mail) met 48h minimum pour vous répondre. Il ne faut pas être pressé… De nombreux commentaires (parfois 5 étoiles curieusement) font état de ces bugs depuis de longues années mais aucune solution technique durable ne semble apportée.
Ensuite, notre expérience de l’échange est très contrastée. Si vous habitez dans une zone touristique comme nous, vous recevrez des dizaines (pas loin d’une centaine !) de demandes par an. En revanche, si vous souhaitez vous-même vous rendre dans une zone touristique (Londres et La Réunion pour nous), il vous faudra envoyer des dizaines de messages avant de trouver un échange… ou pas 🤣🤣 En un an, nous avons donc accueilli cinq familles… mais n’avons pas réussi à conclure le moindre échange pour nos propres vacances 😅😅. Bref. Sur le papier, une bien belle idée. Dans les faits, malheureusement, A**bnb demeure plus efficace.

Stay 5 star for less!
Great site and you are reliant on others replying to you. I have stayed in LA, Thailand, London, Kent and Yorkshire in stunning homes that have accommodated me and my 4 children that ordinarily would have cost me a fortune for the space. We didn’t have to split up into 4 generic hotel rooms we holidayed together, played games and ate and remained respectful of other people’s homes as you would expect yourself. I will continue to use this site for years to come .

The APP
I love the platform and the APP. I have had a couple of issues with the APP. It keeps showing my calendar without my bookings for the current month. The other issue is at one stage was it wouldn’t save homes to favourites. Other wise very handy

Brilliant and easy to use. If you’re unsure you can go to the FAQ section and there is so much there to help you.
Needs improvement
Guest exchanges are limited as availability on the platform is difficult to find. Searching by date isn’t enough to actually provide results for those dates. Example: If it is September 1st and you search any week in January in NYC you see results for past dates like July and future dates like March, but you have to open every single one to see if one is actually available in January and after spending an hour doing that…it turns out that none are. App needs investment into technology

Opens the World Up
When I travel I always start off with checking out accommodations available on the HomeExchamge app. The places that I have stayed at are great. I appreciate the apps ability to be the third party when looking for a place. Gives it a bit more of that security feature. There are a lot of places to find around the world. I appreciate that there are ones that are verified as it gives a better sense of safety. The overall functions of the app are good. The difficulty would be getting a response from people in terms of their interest. I know I’ve missed some potential people requesting my place, because I haven’t checked on the app frequently. I’d suggest another notification feature or a potential “pause or hiatus” of a person hasn’t responded in a while. This makes it easier for people looking as well as for the person who hasn’t checked in awhile. I haven’t fully explored the app in the last 12 months but I’ll say it is a good app for people who like to travel and swap homes or points. I’d like to see other opportunities to earn points. Yea you can trade your place, but if you aren’t able to you may not be able to stay at a particular place as you don’t have enough points. Overall, I appreciate the opportunities the app provides and like its features.

We’ve been experimenting with Home Exchange in preparation for retirement when we will have more time to travel. Thus far the experience has been fantastic. We’ve stayed in some lovely homes and prefer this style of stay to hotels or short term rentals. Our guests have taken exceptional care of our property AND we’ve met
