Extremely good and well thought out app. I like how personalised it is to your triggers and tolerables rather than being a general app which isn’t tailored to your gut. Has everything in 1 app which is great.

Great app

I’m newly diagnosed with IBS and am trying low FODMAP for the first time, I’m still in the elimination phase. After struggling for months, for the first time my symptoms have improved after only 5 days of tracking using the app to guide me. I like the barcode scan and meal scan features these are great, but as a person who cooks from scratch, often there are no barcodes on everything i am cooking. I’d like to be able to search for an item and see its FODMAP rating before deciding if i will eat it. The app would benefit from some form of community- somewhere to connect with others with the same symptoms, at the same stage of elimination or to recommend tasty low FODMAP items

Need for partner

Paid for premium and my partner also had on his phone so he could check stuff for me but they’ve disabled access. Needs to be able to have more then one user especially with premium. Also discovery page is rubbish

Good but not great

The app is great overall, very helpful for tracking. Since having it for just over a month, it’s now started to get really slow and laggy. The app is up to date, could be because of all the data logged on it.

Don’t waste your money

Not worth it, Been using it consistently for 18 days and still no insights or triggers accurately identified. It asks for your tolerables but then when you add it to your journal it forgets this 90% of the time. The AI analysis is consistently not right. Then when scanning a meal and changing it gluten free bread it often forgets this entirely when you log it to a meal.

Helpful for product scans but that’s about it.

Makes life so much easier when worrying what to buy at the shops

Waste of time

The onboarding asks a whole load of questions before hitting you with an unskippable payment screen. Waste of 10 minutes. There are other better apps for free

Keeps changing

I really wanted to like this app but it seems to get more difficult to use when tracking food instead of easier. There use to be the option to scan a barcode, not just look it up in store, but also when entering meals. That option is no longer available so the only option to enter meals is to scan your meal or use manual entry. Very recently the manual entry now forces you to enter a weight or it won’t take. I don’t walk around with a food scale in my pocket so I am left guessing. Clearly the app want to force you to use AI tool of scanning meals. I find that tool is not always accurate so I prefer manual entry. Now to medications. There is no medication entry & I occasionally use medication for my IBS. It would be nice to have the information in the app. The app had great potential but with the constant changes making more difficult to use it’s not heading in the right direction.

Response from developer

Hi, Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it. Just to clarify, barcode scanning for meals/products in the journal hasn’t been removed, and we’re definitely not trying to force AI meal scans. The barcode option is still there, you just need to scroll across the top navigation bar to access it. We’ve also now added medication tracking to the app as well. For serving sizes, these are required so the app can give accurate FODMAP tracking and AI insights, since portion size heavily affects FODMAP levels. Even an estimate helps improve accuracy a lot. We really appreciate the suggestions and will keep improving the app experience.

OK if everything you eat has a barcode

Whilst the app is good it has it’s limitations. For example I use Gousto recipes and unlike My Fitness Pal which recognise these IBS Pal does not or I can’t make it. I have tried to scan meals and it has not always worked and the AI is far from perfect. It would be great if I had the functionality of food logging of IBS Pal and My Fitness Pal in a single app but neither does everything.

New favourite app

Does what is says on the tin

Doesn’t work

Can’t even get past the payment page - no option to progress without signing up for a free trial that I don’t want to do!

Search is broken

Great for scanning foods and tracking, but every-time I tried to search for a food I got the error message. Sadly uninstalled to find an alternative

Abdu’s review

The app meets day to day functions and is useful when doing your grocery, I would recommend this to others

This app changed my life

This app literally helped me beat ibs I was struggling with ibs my whole life and it was tragic and I seen this on TikTok and said I’ll give it a go and what a change

Loading onto the App

I’m trying to load onto the app and create a account however on a phone and I’m stuck on one of the menus, there is no button to click off of it and you can’t scroll down making it hard to see all the options.

Simple and easy to use 💯
