Want to transfer to a new device? Too bad.
It never occurred to the dev team that people get new phones. On competently designed authentication apps, there’s an easy method: on the old device, you tap export. On the new device, you tap import. One of the devices generates a QR code that you point the other device at, then boom. Everything's transferred. This concept never occurred to this s dev team, apparently never encountered competently-designed authentication apps. Instead, you have to go to a desktop platform, which the instructions hopefully omit.

Hard to use. Requires tons of supposedly protected personal information and still won’t work … except now it generates sales emails!!!!!
Tech support is completely unqualified
I had a problem with the app when the IRS website did not recognize the code generated by the ID.me app. After being in the chat room for over an hour and a half, and being kicked out there (3) times from one agent/department to another, the third agent sent the “reset” instructions that basically disabled the app all together. The IRS website now simply requires sending text message to the phone which is considered to be the least secure method. The ID.me app is no longer an option for MFA. The support team should have qualified people to assist users.

I am trying to get a referee.i have been in the waiting room for 12 hours for the last 2 days. Says 24/7. I try 9am and 11pm. I get 2hr 45 min wait and in 6 hours latter I get 3hr 15 wait. Is this a scam? I tried to schedule an appointment. I tried seven different days five different hours. All are taken. None available terrible terrible terrible terrible I’ll give it two stars.

Horrendous
There is no help on this app. No possibility of phone calls or emails. They only have a ridiculous AI agent help through their help center that doesn’t work. It’s absolutely ridiculous that we can’t get help and have to depend on on this pathetic app
Changing phone numbers
I have changed phone numbers before now I am told they can’t do that. I was refused when I asked for supervisor several times. This developer does not protect your identity because they won’t let you change phone numbers.
Update bricked
Last update bricked the app on iphone 5s. It opens and restarts. Worked great before the update

Spent 40 minutes trying to delete an account I used once and I got no where. Can’t login, can’t use the app, cant authenticate my account, can’t get help from customer service

I would write a detailed description of how horrible ID.me is but after explaining a million times to their stupid AI bot and to customer support emails that just respond back with an automated email that does not help you with your issue, I think I’d rather not. All I can say is, do NOT waste your time like I did.
