If-Then Record: Habit Chains

"If I wake up, then I drink a glass of water." Writing a cue and an action as one sentence is called if-then planning (implementation intention). If-Then Record lets you write your day in exactly that shape, and see at a glance whether it is holding. ■ How it works (3 steps) 1. Write the cue Something that happens every day anyway: "When I wake up", "After lunch". 2. List the actions under it "Drink a glass of water", "Open the curtains". That group is one chain. 3. Tap when done One check per day. Tapped by mistake? Tap again to undo. Everything resets on its own when the date changes. ■ Features • A color per chain Blue for the morning, purple for the night. The color tells you which group you are looking at. • See where the chain broke The point where the rail changes color is exactly how far you got today, and where you stopped. • Trigger bar at the top Shows how many times you finished each chain end to end, plus today's progress.
