Seriously buggy

Set up process crashed or looped me around like 4 times and required to close and reopen the app. Also seems super basic compared to stuff like Runalyze which is infinitely cheaper with tons more info. I can’t recommend but if it works for you I don’t judge.

Amazing platform and support

I’ve tried every app from Runna to VDot to manual programming. I have a crazy work schedule and kids and often find it time to do prescribed runs on a schedule. Kaizen is the most adaptive training app I’ve ever seen. Not only does it adapt to what you do, it easily adapts to your life.

When I had a question, Kaizen support reached back and answered my questions immediately.

10/10 app. Highly recommended for anyone who cares about running.

Great app

I like how this app leaves me to train the way I want, but still gives good predictions that adjust directly with my recent training volume and intensity. Switched from Runna and am very happy with it.

Love Kaizen

Kaizen is the only app that’s kept me structured, motivated, and actually improving.

Response from developer

awesome, glad to hear it's working for you!

Useless app

Not sure how this app works. I just run a 20min 5k as part of training and the app says under ideal conditions I would do 21 minutes. For the rest it doesn’t really offer anything at all

FAQ

What does Kaizen | Data-Driven Running do?

Kaizen analyzes your past running data, typically by connecting to your Strava account, to determine your current fitness level. Based on this, it sets dynamic weekly distance targets and provides race predictions for distances like 5k, 10k, half marathon, and marathon. The app aims to guide you towards achieving your running goals and improving your performance.

How does the app personalize my training?

The app creates hyper-personalized training by crunching your running history to calculate your actual current fitness. It then sets a dynamic weekly distance target that is sustainable for you, based on your average intensity and cross-training from previous weeks. This means your target adjusts based on how hard or easy you run, ensuring you can meet your training load.

What are the subscription costs for Kaizen?

The app offers subscription options. For users in the United Kingdom, pricing is £12.99 per month, £29.99 for 3 months, and £79.99 per year. Pricing may vary in other countries. A free trial is available to experience the benefits before committing to a subscription.

What devices or services is Kaizen compatible with?

Currently, Kaizen is compatible with Strava. You need to connect your Strava account for the app to process your activities, calculate predictions, and set targets. The app does not process or store your location or heart rate data.

Can I use this app if I'm not training for a race?

Yes, Kaizen is also designed for runners looking to improve their general fitness and consistency. The app can set plans to help you maintain your fitness or actively improve it if you're dedicated to getting faster. It focuses on building consistency step-by-step, fitting into your life.
