What's New in Kan Do

1.4.9

September 17, 2026

Today, Upcoming, and Inbox - Manual reordering works again on iPhone and iPad: with Sort By set to Manual, press and hold a task and drag it to a new spot, and it stays there. Before, the task sprang back to its old place the moment you let go, even though the new order was saved and showed up after a relaunch (tester video). The same fix applies inside the Past Due and Today sections and to a reorder synced from another device Smart Lists - Tasks with a start date now show up in your own smart lists the same way they do in Today: a list with a Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Next Week, or date-range filter includes a task on every day from its start date through its due date (tester report: a task that had started was in Today but missing from "Today + Priority"). Overdue still goes by the due date alone. Widgets follow the same rule iPhone and iPad - Tapping the empty space under a list or board column no longer starts a new task; that stays a Mac feature. On iPad, tapping empty space now closes the open task instead, the same as tapping between board columns - The task pane's close button on iPad now points right, the direction the pane slides away (down stays for the iPhone sheet) - Closing the task pane with a swipe on iPad is more forgiving: a slightly diagonal swipe or a quick flick now counts, and a two-finger swipe on the screen works as well as on the trackpad

OMG! This is what I’ve been missing…

From day one, I’ve been a big fan… and within days, I’ve I’d moved away from Apple Reminders. Since then, the app has received several updates a week, adding feature after feature! I seriously love this app!

Kan do

Very laggy on my Mac book pro m5 not good

So well done

I never write reviews but this app is mind blowing for a number of reasons. First, someone finally creates a task app that does so many things so well by blending To-Do with Kanban. I keep thinking, “Where has this app been my whole life.” AND the app creator adds new features super fast. AND the app creator has vibe coded this app. Perhaps he is a genius (quite possible given above notes) but perhaps we are entering a new time in app design and functionality thanks to AI. Try this app!

Just what I was looking for…

And didn’t know it. I’ve tried so many Kanban apps before, and even hosted an open source one on a server, but none of them “stuck”.

Kan Do is just simple but does enough for me, without a bunch of complexity. And it runs on Mac, iPad, iPhone and syncs over iCloud.

Recommended!

Finally!

Finally, an app I can use that suits my workflow. I’ve tried Trello before but Kan Do is so much more user-friendly. The iCloud sync is great, and Stephen is updating the app regularly to fine tune it and get rid of any bugs. He’s a developer who truly cares about the user experience.
