Connection issues
My handheld device is connecting via wifi but the app says the camera is offline. This is only solvable through multiple restarts of camera and app, which is annoying, takes time and often produces notification sounds that wake the baby. I initially really liked the product but this sucks.
Disconnected
Camera is good but when it’s working but it disconnects loads and just a pain to reconnect, if your looking for baby cameras I’d look at others instead
Cannot sign in
Cannot sign in, create account or reset password. It was working fine until now. Says you need to update the app to keep using it. I got the Plus app and it cannot scan the QR code. What a misery…
Does not connect properly
The hardware looks great but when I’m at work and trying to see how my little is doing or if I’m the next room, through my phone, it always shows that the camera cannot connect to the wifi
Buggy and developer doesn’t care
I find it so strange that a company as large as vtech/leap frog would spend so little money to make sure their app functions properly. My main issue with the app is that event recordings will only load sporadically. The developer has responded to this here by having people reset their cameras. THIS IS NOT A CAMERA PROBLEM. It’s an app problem. The videos are being recorded they are just not loading to be viewed consistently. I know this because I will try clicking on the same one over and over and now and then I get lucky and it will load and can be viewed. Super frustrating when you’re trying to figure out what time your kid actually woke up or what happened that made them start crying. At the time of this review, according to Apple, it’s been a year since an update. Other apps regularly send bug fixes and updates. I don’t recommend this baby monitor to friends or family because of the app. It’s going to affect sales eventually if it hasn’t already. It makes absolutely no sense to not spend the money to fix the problems.
