Worse language app
As soon as I open the app, I’m presented with subscribe screen for payment that I cannot continue unless I pay. How do they expect people to pay for an app they can’t even try
Good Canto app
I jump to this app first when I need help with Cantonese, particularly the characters. My wife usually corrects my pronunciation to the local way HK people speak, which is fun.
I would’ve happily given 5 stars if it weren’t for one annoying fact, I have paid for the “lifetime” full app three times over the last several years. When I opened it up today and it asked for more money again, I decided I’ve had enough.

Great selection of Cantonese words
Would have given 5 but there isn't a way to enlargen the words, making some of the characters difficult to read and copy.

i got this app because I wanted a phrasebook app in Cantonese, and this was exactly what I needed!! I decided to get the pro version and it has been extremely helpful in my Cantonese learning.
Good but kinda off
I downloaded this app because I can speak canto pretty fluently but I can’t write it. I know some basic words, so when I hear things that are kinda off, it bothers me. Like, for example, rain is not supposed to be pronounced in the same tone as fish. But in this app, it is. Another thing, the word umbrella. We may write with the word 傘for umbrella, but when we’re speaking it, it’s 遮. So I’m not sure if it’s trying to teach written, or spoken form of cantonese. And I feel like they should inform people who aren’t native speakers. Or have both terms included.

Um, tones
Tones and recording don't match. Either that or this is a different transcription than most people use. If it's sandhi rules at play, shouldn't that be mentioned somewhere? Fix this.
Accurate translations
So I've been using this app for quite some time now and decided to buy the pro version. It's actually very easy to use and i think it will be good if i ever travel to hong kong. My girlfriend is Chinese which is why i started using this app in the first place.
I like the app, its pretty accurate and sometimes i catch my girlfriend off guard when i say something she didn't think i knew.

I'm not sure what to think of this. Sounds a little different from the Hong Kong people I hear speak. Maybe the speaker has a slight accent?
Actually not bad to teach my white friend
Most of the translation are spot on, might not agree to all the spellings, but close enough.
The main reason for 5 star is the usability and how easy it is to use. Makes teaching my friend more enjoyable.
The play all feature is great for when you are driving and listening. Would like to see something where its more easy driving friendly usability.

Just downloaded this app for fun, (being Chinese myself) just want to see how accurate it would be. This app is spot on! It teaches both formal and informal ways of speaking Cantonese. Even my 3 year old is learning it!

Also did not open for me. Shame really because it looked quite promising.

I have been waiting for a cantonese phrase book for forever! And this is definitely the best way to go! Every language you put out if pretty accurate. Definitely a great book to pair off with the cantonese classes iv been taking.
