Avoid this charging network
In responses to other reviews they claim the building owner is responsible for setting the kWh pricing, but that explanation doesn’t really hold up when there are ChargePoint chargers in the exact same building that are cheaper and have lower activation/authorization fees.
Overall a frustrating experience and a poorly built product. I’d strongly recommend using other charging providers.
$50.00 temporary hold fees
Absolute Nightmare
Excessive hold fee
Lacks notification features
Unreliable chargers and frustrating payment system
The app is unstable, and payment authorization regularly fails. In practice, this forces users to preload funds onto a Loop wallet, which is non-refundable. That creates a captive-customer situation where you’re required to front money for a service that frequently doesn’t work.
For a residential installation — where tenants rely on overnight charging — uptime and reliability are critical. Based on repeated failures and unresolved issues, this network has not met basic reliability expectations.
Horrible stations
Chargers rarely work
Overcharging and never reimbursing
From the beginning, the app charged a $5 activation fee almost every time I tried to start a session. On multiple occasions, the app would charge $2–$3, glitch out, and fail to start charging. Sometimes those charges were reimbursed, sometimes they weren’t. I didn’t always catch it at the time, which is partly on me — but the pattern is concerning.
Recently, the company began charging $50 holds/fees, and that’s when things became unacceptable.
Yesterday:
• I attempted to charge my car
• The app charged me twice ($50 x2)
• My car never charged
• I unplugged and left
• Only one $50 charge was reimbursed
• The second $50 was never returned
• About 20 minutes later, I was charged another $50 for no reason, which was reimbursed immediately
So as of now, I’ve been wrongfully charged $50 with no successful charging session and no explanation.
This app feels extremely unreliable when it comes to payment processing, reimbursements, and session stability. When you’re dealing with large authorization amounts, this level of inconsistency is unacceptable.
I would strongly caution EV drivers to monitor their bank statements closely if using this service and think twice before relying on it for charging.
