Completely unreliable
Download this app if you like gambling. Sometimes it works so well you forget it is there. Other times, you wake up to find the car hasn’t charged and you’re in trouble. It is a complete lottery.
Decent app. Needs improvement
It basically does what it’s supposed to, but there are weak spots.
1: When “Smart” charging, if the app stops charging and schedules it to restart at a later time, it NEVER restarts the charging. I’ve had to drastically change what time I want the charge finished so it doesn’t stop after I go to bed. Otherwise, when I get up and ready to go, the app didn’t restart the charging, and the car isn’t charged to the percentage I was expecting.
2: A recent update seems to have removed the estimated charging costs for each charge. I have my rate added, and up until recently, it would give me an estimated cost of each charge, based on that rate. My rate is still in the app, but my charging costs are no longer displayed.
3: The app’s “chat with us” feature is garbage. You’re not actually getting to chat at all. It’s just a series of pre-written questions, with set answers, and the answers don’t always correctly answer the question you selected, with no recourse other than selecting “this solved my issue”

Get any other app than this
I was forced to get a new EV charger as EI stopped supporting the EO2 which was superb. I could choose to charge on solar, grid or both. Now I have this EV.energy app (which you have to pay for) and it so far has cost me £250 to charge my car over the last 6 months and it will not charge on solar alone. I have had uk power here to try and solve it but it is basically the installation, EV charger and an app which is as much use as x chocolate teapot. I have asked many times for my money back… Don’t not touch

Great but
Cannot sign in. It keeps telling me my account info could not be loaded. Try again. I’ve been trying for over a week. I uninstalled the app and changed my password and even tried signing up as new but it has a record of my email and account and tells me to sign in. Nothing in the app has any useful info for fixing the issue so I’m not sure how to use the app if I can’t sign into my account.
