Best DIY App

If you’re a simple investor and know what you’re doing this is the perfect app. why pay a financial advisor where you could do the exact same thing for so much cheaper using M1.

Best App for investors by far.

Unfortunately They're racist

You can open an account with Robin Hood with a driver license + SSN

(M1) They ask for citizenship

Support

If you run into an issue, you are out of luck. Support is not good. Everything is automated and finding a solution can be next to impossible. Best of luck to you.

Great app, awful customer service

I love the app and it works just fine. Service is a different story. God forbid something happens to your account and you need immediate support. Chat support is a 24-48 hour turnaround. Phone support is hit or miss depending on who you get.

Worst broker ever

Worst broker ever.

From Best to Worst investing platform

No customer service.
Multiple bugs within the app.
Extra long transfer periods.
Doesn’t connect to a lot of banks.

Don’t come here with less than 10k

Great little system bad decision making by owners . May as well open an account with Chase , WF . SoFi or BoA. So many ETFs and stocks missing. RH has more . The visuals are amazing. Easy to read but the bad outweighs the good.

Pies for savings

Great app. Love the platform for margin. I do wish you had the options to at least set a sale price for securities versus selling blindly at different times. Also, I wish you could sell different tronches so you could have a better control of your tax bill. Those are my only two complaints. Otherwise great platform.

Great concept, app a bit awkward

I’ve moved my investments here from Robinhood but find the app to be a bit confusing to navigate and sometimes it shows clearly incorrect percent change for pie slices (wildly different numbers for “all time” vs “this quarter” for a fund I’ve only held a few days)

Pretty easy to manage

Referred to the site by a young retired family member. Easy to use and transfer funds and my investments.

Always has problems

Every time I try and make an account there's always a problem and support doesn't know what to do.

On too of this once i managed to make one the ui sucks. Hiwever they measure the return of holdings is stupid and is costing me money. I hate this app so much.

Platform Fee for Balance Under $10K

Beware! You will be charged a monthly platform fee if your balance is not high enough.

New user

I downloaded this app to copy a portfolio from someone else and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to do it. Frustrating. I do t want to manual make the same portfolio.

It’s great!!!

Great app!!! Had it for years and I love it!!

Great idea - Terrible customer service and missing features

M1 Finance has a unique and innovative Pie investing concept, which is what initially attracted me to the platform. Unfortunately, that’s where most of the positives end.

The biggest issue is customer service. It is extremely difficult to reach a knowledgeable support representative. Responses are often slow, and when you do get a response, the information provided is frequently incomplete, inconsistent, or simply incorrect. This is especially frustrating when you’re dealing with investment accounts, transfers, or tax-related questions where accurate information is critical. A financial institution should inspire confidence, but M1’s support does the opposite.

For investors who follow a disciplined, long-term investing strategy, the platform is also missing several useful features:

* Better portfolio analytics and performance reporting.
* More flexible recurring investment and rebalancing options.
* Better tax reporting and tax-planning tools.
* Support for mutual funds alongside ETFs and stocks.
* More account management and customization options.
* Better research and portfolio insights to help monitor long-term performance.

Overall, M1 Finance has a strong concept but falls short in execution. Reliable customer service and continued platform improvements are essential for an investment platform, and M1 Finance currently misses the mark on both.

Disappointed.

No ability to set sell or buy prices on that I can see. Also, $3 a month for use of the platform for such a small portfolio is ridiculous when I am self directed. I am moving everything to E-Trade. So user friendly and much better support.

GREEDY MF’S

This app use to be a FREE investing app, with ZERO fees. Ridiculous

Hard to use

Hard to buy the stocks you want to purchase
