Five years ago, while staying at a Marriott hotel in Belize, I saw a sign encouraging guests to sign up for Marriott Bonvoy and start earning points toward free rooms, meals, and so much more.
I told my husband we should do it, and of course, he said it would be a waste. 😂 Well… I did it anyway! Haha!
Fast-forward five years, and we have earned an incredible amount of Marriott Bonvoy points simply by using the Marriott credit card for expenses and bills we were already paying as business owners. We’ve enjoyed free hotel stays, free meals, upgrades, and so many other perks—all while earning even more points toward future stays.
The funniest part? My husband, who originally thought it was a waste, now can’t live without the Marriott Bonvoy app or the credit card! 😂
Signing up was honestly one of the best decisions we ever made. If you’re not taking advantage of Marriott Bonvoy, you’re seriously missing out!

Where are the promos!
After making a change to the Q1 promo that certainly lessened the brand value, I’m yet to see another. I’m aware of several other promos members of varying statuses have gotten since. Nothing for me. Less and less value each year for members that earn their status by putting a head on the pillow.
The Gold Standard for Hotel Apps
The Marriott Bonvoy app is easily one of the best and most user-friendly travel apps I use. Marriott has done an excellent job putting virtually everything you need for a hotel stay in one place while still keeping the app simple, organized, and easy to navigate.
From searching for hotels and booking a room to viewing upcoming reservations, managing your Bonvoy account and points, and checking in before arrival, everything is straightforward. One of my favorite features is being able to let the hotel know my arrival time and receive a notification when my room is ready. The Mobile Key is another great convenience at participating hotels—you can go directly to your room and use your phone to unlock the door without having to stop at the front desk.
What really sets the app apart, though, is how useful it becomes after you arrive. Mobile Chat and service requests make it incredibly easy to communicate directly with the hotel. Whether I need additional towels, have a question about the property, need assistance with something in my room, or want a local recommendation, I can make the request right through the app. In my experience, the hotel receives it quickly and gets me what I need without the hassle of calling around or waiting at the front desk. At participating properties, you can even browse dining options and order food and beverages through the app.
I also appreciate that Bonvoy ties the entire experience together—from finding and booking a property to member rates, earning and redeeming points, managing reservations, checking in, accessing your room, communicating with the hotel, and checking out. It genuinely feels like the app was designed around what a traveler actually needs before, during, and after a stay.
I travel enough to use a lot of hotel and travel apps, and Marriott Bonvoy consistently stands out for convenience, reliability, and ease of use. It takes so many of the little hassles out of traveling and puts control of your stay right in your hand.
