Does not adjust temperature when changed in the app
It shows the temperature of the smoker but when you change the temp in the app it does not change it on the smoker. Yes it is connected to WiFi properly.
Great App Hindered by One Frustrating Bug
This app is well designed and typically works well in letting me monitor and control my grill. However…it keeps logging me out on what feels like an every other week basis and it’s super frustrating. On top of that, it doesn’t seem to support the iOS Passwords app so when it does randomly decide I need to be logged out, I can easily autofill and log back in. If the developers can address that bug, it would be a 5/5 stars from me.

App issues
The masterbuilt app is horrible. Connections issues every cook. Your either kick out of your account or the smoker falls off and you can’t connect. What good is an app if you can’t use it?
560 temp control
Have issues with the accuracy of the temp probe for the smoking/ grilling box. The actual temperature of smoker chamber is actually 30° lower than the reading. I have replaced the probe, but the new probe has the same reading as the original. Not sure if it’s the controller or an issue with the placement/location of the probe. Any known fixes ? Overall very satisfied with the unit. Thanks Larry Markee

App doesn’t work
The app stopped working for me. It wouldn’t recognize the grill that I connected previously. I tried deleting and adding it again then it disappeared. Now when I try to add a device, it doesn’t even give me options to choose from so I can’t add it back. This thing is completely useless.

This app never works and I have to reset my password everytime I use it.
Garbage app
Every time you want to use your smoker you need to re pair the thing! Not buying another of these stupid things after this one goes.
It’s better
Keeping the connection is better. I still have to unplug the smoker and replug each time to get it to connect with the app. Once connected now I’m on a 2.4Ghz WiFi, it stays connected.
Constantly logs out
Absolutely annoying that it can’t even survive an 8 hour cooking session without logging out. Unacceptable.
Love it
I had a master belt electric smoker for several years. I used it frequently and even took it camping. Eventually the seal around the door stopped working among other things and I needed to get a new unit. My husband purchased this one for Christmas as it was closest to my old one and I really like one. I’ve had this one for about six months now and love it. I find the electric smokers quite a bit easier to use as far as regulating temperatures. This one fits quite a bit of food in it. And is easy to clean. The app works well and I haven’t had any problems with the unit or the app.

This app COULD BE great but isn’t. It comes no where close to the quality and consistency of the hardware. Download and install anyway but prepare to be underwhelmed and be prepared to log in each time you fire up this turd of an app.

This app is worse and worse with every update, it logs me out constantly and I have to login, it looses connection to the smoker and I have to add it every 3 cooking :/

Every time I start the grill, I have to delete and add the grill. Today it stayed connected for three minutes. The recipes are great
Good app, loses sync
Love the oven, 2nd cook - but the app has a few bugs. It’s like the ‘live’ mode probe and grill use different ‘state’ variables as they show differing values. I’ve found the easiest way is to kill the app & relaunch and it refreshes/resyncs, but I have to do this each time to check.
Hopefully it can be fixed. Great app otherwise.

Can’t keep wifi connection
The primary function of the app is working reliably. if I do not use my grill for a while, the app does not longer connect to it. The only workaround it to disconnect the cable to the controller let it reboot. I am also having issues with being logged out all the time and I have to log back in. The app overall is nice .

I am in a toxic relationship with my smoker. Every single time I go to use it I need to remove the app from my phone, download the app, and try multiple times to connect to my wifi. It’s not my wifi, I have many devices connected, no issues, it’s not the distance, when connected it shows full bars. It’s not my phone, I have last years model. If I didn’t love smoked food so much I don’t think the juice would be worth the squeeze.

Smoker is great - App is so behind others
No issues with the smoker. Get a cover or it will not last. The app needs sooo much work. It lacks many normal smoking meats in the drop down. I use “custom” for everything. It won’t show the meat temp on the main page etc. If you use other apps for smoking you know exactly what this thing is lacks. I’ve read where the computer screen/boards fail frequently on these smokers. So far mine has lasted but it is covered when not in use. If you are a first time smoker get a pellet smoker. This thing will chew charcoal like a lion at a hyena kill. I went through 20 pounds for a 12 hour pork picnic roast at 225. Just sayin
