Can’t pay with my gift card
My coworkers know that I like picking up breakfast from McDs on the way to work, so they got me a $50 gift card… turns out gift cards can’t be used to pay in the app. This isn’t a technical competence issue, it’s intentional. I’ll go through the extra steps until the balance is zero, but once that happens, I’m getting my breakfast elsewhere.

Can't change location to order from
It is very frustrating that I am in between three McDonald's that are the same distance from me and I can't choose which one to order delivery from. The location closest to me has their soda machine not working so I can't order an ice cold diet coke - which is one of the main reasons I'd order it. What a joke.

Worst app
App is slow and requires location services to be turned on.
Charged me won’t refund store closed
The store was closed for some safety or computer system issues. They still charged my card for the food said refund is handled on the app side. Called corporate office filed a case said a refund should be issued it still cleared my card no refund was issued. Spent a lot of time trying to resolve this issue it’s not about the money it’s the principal you don’t charge someone with out providing any service it’s stealing.

Poor functionality
This app is slow when I’m at home and nowhere near a store. If I try to set my order when I get there it doesn’t function properly at all. It comes across as weaponized incompetence since none of my other fast food apps have this issue and McDonalds has enough money to develop an app properly, they simply choose not to. Their shares are down by roughly 10% this year. Poor business decisions are clearly impacting things here.

I can’t redeem points?!?!
I love McDonald’s I eat it on break , I tried to scan my receipt, because my WiFi was bad in one of the locations. But it didn’t work , and has continued to never work. Every time I press more , Add missing points from receipt, Enter receipt details. The McDonald’s app freezes, McDonalds please fix this!

Buggy App if Low Power Mode is on
Orders won’t go through if you have Low Power Mode on and will constantly cycle in app never submitting the order to the restaurant even after paying
Depends on the store
At one store near my work it is very convenient and time saving. At the store near my home I ordered 20 minutes ahead of getting there and still waited 20 minutes for the order.

I contacted McDonald via the app, it only sent me a generic message. Please fix the issue ASAP. I can’t add my missing points!

The app legit works everywhere other than when you’re physically at the store it will legit freeze so I cannot use my rewards or anything stuck is a infinite loading screen when I have the max signal I can possibly have on my phone everything else on my phone works smoothly but McDonald’s app nope not a chance but if I’m in the drive thru at 3am when they decline codes the app will load as if that helps😂😭 legit scam basically

HEAVY app
The app is VERY heavy and poorly-optimized. Slow, clunky interface that bugs out here and there. Fully updated iP17 Pro Max and the app is still awful to use
Please do better McDonald’s!
It always kicks me out, and I have to go back through the sign in process, and my meal deals are getting customized all the way down to barely any.
Slow and Steals Points
This app is so slow, much slower than other restaurant apps. It steals points and you can’t contact customer service within the app if something is missing from your order.

Never loads quickly, often have to close and reopen, randomly closes on me… The slowest glitchiest app I’ve ever seen, I’m shocked a huge company wouldn’t work to better their app, especially when they’re getting roasted for it on Reddit.
Can’t Change Pickup Method
Add originally ordered for drive-through but then showed up at the McDonald’s with 20 cars in the drive-through and wanted to be able to change for curbside pick up, but you can’t. Did not want to sit for 20 minutes. Idling a diesel pick up considering how much diesel cost these days besides the wear and tear on the truck idling. I went ahead and canceled the order, but then you can’t use the deal even though you didn’t really use the deal for another 15 minutes.

Gift Cards??
Can’t use gift cards in the app! This makes gift cards basically junk and dilutes the brand and angers customers. Get it together MackyDs.
Doesn’t always work
Spent 5 minutes trying to put in an order. Finally drove to the store n they said sorry can’t help you.
Horrible now
McDonald’s has gotten greedy, raised all their prices and ruined the deals on the app. Not even worth it to try and use the app anymore.
