Horrible design
The app has quite a few flaws. The issue I find most concerning is the fact that I can’t submit anything through the app when I have an issue with my order.
When you call the building, 9 times out of 10, no one answers. And if I work 30 minutes away from my house, and I decide to grab food on my way back home, then I shouldn’t have to drive 30 minutes back to the McDonald’s I ordered from for them to fix my order all because no one answered the phone and couldn’t just give me a refund. Or if im going on vacation and I grab food on my way through some random city, I shouldn’t have to turn around and delay my trip by another 30 minutes just so they can fix the order.
There should absolutely be an option to report issues on the app. Otherwise, McDonald’s comes off like it’s doing all it can to prevent giving refunds or fixing issues.

I’m officially deleting the stupidest app from my phone. The McDonald’s app. Their locations are all horrible. I work night shifts. I get off work between 2-5 am. It doesn’t matter WHAT time I get off. McDonald’s ALWAYS has some BS going on with their stupid systems to where they can’t take my order. I’m DONE with ALL the stupid inconveniences. I’d MUCH rather go somewhere else and pay more just to avoid the stupidity of McDonald’s.

Best app
This is the best app I’ve used. Super easy.
This App Is TERRIBLE For Delivery
The delivery done through Uber eats is absolutely terrible. There have been multiple occasions where I’ve had to wait over an hour just to get a delivery driver assigned and McDonald’s refuses to understand that there’s an issue either with Uber eats or whatever it is that they’re using as a delivery service. If you’re going to be offering delivery as a service, you need to make sure that you guys can fill that promise. If you can’t fill delivery as a promise, then you shouldn’t offer delivery as an option. It should not take someone over two hours to try and get food just for them then having an order due to the delivery system on this app being the worst out of any app out there. I would recommend people stay away from this app and not even bother downloading it. It’ll save you a lot of headache.
There AI chat system is also the worst you tell it your issue and it repeats the same thing six times. And a lot of their customer service representatives are just so quick to end the chat after asking you to explain what’s going on. I have never had a good service with this McDonald’s app and quite frankly this was the last straw and I’m not using this app anymore.

Not able to use gift cards
The app would be a 4 easily, but the inability to use gift cards to pay for my orders is just backwards.

Not worth the effort anymore
Used to get decent deals to make it worth using but McDonalds isn’t giving much of anything. A dollar off a soda once a day. Can’t use reward points and get and use a discount at the same time. Not surprised McDonalds sales are tanking.

The worst
If you live in Everett don’t go on here for the app because the first time I had to go to 2 different McDonalds because it didn’t actually have the most accurate closest McDonalds near you. Now today August 23rd I’m currently waiting to get out of the long line to wait to go to a 20 minute ride over to Tulip to get my McDonald’s where I just wanted to go back home to sleep and eat. Complete waste of my day.

Questionable
Up until about 2 months ago this app worked fine. Now any time I go thru the drive thru, my code never (!!!) works. It’s invalid. But I can’t refresh the code. I have to go to a curb side delivery spot, place my order.. not then half the time I’m not able to personalize my order. None of the staff know how to fix it or can by pass things. I’m fed up. I don’t even get a receipt with a code to enter into the app like other places have so I can still get my points.

Quit changing the point system. Charging way too much for the points. Bring it back to how it was

App is buggy and broken. I make an order and the staff don’t see it in the system, even showed them my order and the location was correct. The staff made my order anyways thankfully but it has been hours and the McDonald’s app thinks my order is in progress. And of course it tells me I can’t cancel it, weird!

Update: reinstalling helped but then I ordered a delivery through the app and didn’t get the food that I ordered. There is no way to refund through this app. Go anywhere else, don’t use this app and don’t send your money to this company.

Gift Card Upload Would Be Nice
Besides the occasional glitch when the app won’t load and try to tell me that my chosen restaurant is closed, I really wish there was a way to upload gift cards as a form of payment - I mean if Dunkin’ Donuts can do it, why can’t McDonald’s figure it out?

This is the only fast food app that uses a number system and it’s the only fast food app that consistently fails. Constantly they have my code declined, and then I can’t pick out anything else for 15 minutes. Horrible app!

Slow interface, app “using deals” autonomously
The app consistently tells me I have already used a deal when I haven’t which is beyond frustrating.
