Insane fees

I would rather pay for a ticket than support this app. The fees are higher than the cost of parking.

Doesn’t work

Entered all my information and paid for parking. A parking ticket later, the app never processed my information. Since I was traveling, can’t contest it and there is no on to discuss this.. worthless app

Why is there no Map?

Every other cities parking app has a map you can scroll and see which zone you’re in. Instead I gotta run around and find a sign to see which zone I’m in. What if I’m inside at a restaurant already? Or I need to update the time on a zone I’m in cause the time changed and it’s no longer free to park?

Add a map with the zones.

Best customer service

So I don’t do reviews but the customers service at meterEZ is awesome had two account and couldn’t figure how to recover to new phone number. Have they fix me up quick. Thank you meterEZ cs

Response from developer

Hey Ezsqueeze814, Thank you for the kind words! We always try to promptly help everyone and encourage customers to reach out via the contact forms in the app if they need anything at all. Happy parking!

Once you log out that’s it.

It has happened to me twice now where I have needed to log out and can’t log in again. So any money left in my account is just gone. I specifically went through their instructions to change my phone number associated with the account and still my account seems to no longer exist.

The app is convenient, but not allowing coming back is horrible.

Hey -jlt-! I can assure you you're account is still there! If you originally signed up with your phone number (for example), then logged in with a different phone number, or perhaps your Email/Apple/Google, it will create a different account. All you have to do is log in with the same login method, and you will see your old account. If you have any issues, feel free to reach out and we can easily get you back in. We can also link your phone number to your emails, etc for you :)

Parking is free after 5 and on weekends..

It’s so dishonest and gross that there’s no warning that parking after a certain time and on weekends is free.

Response from developer

Hey Lavenderh@ze! Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience. In Erie, generally speaking, Street parking is enforced from 9am-6pm, Mon-Sat, and Lots are enforced 24/7. The enforcement hours/days are labeled on all of the parking meters in the city, and subject to change by the parking authority. Please always refer to the parking meter that you're parking at to know the specific enforcement hours/days for where you're parking. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out via. the support forms in the app and we're happy to help!

Not very EZ for the occasional user.

I’m in Erie for two days and need to park. Some parking meter apps are as simple as enter the meter number, select Apple Pay, touchid, you’re done. Meter EZ is like filling out a police report on a stolen car. You want my name, Phone number, Credit Card, Vehicle plate and as if said license plate number is not enough to identify a vehicle you also ask for vehicle make, model and color. Then CC registration (which I would prefer not to use) failed the first time. Second time it works but minimum charge is $10 ez meter credit in that I may never use most of. After paying the meter still says “0:00 EXPIRED” so who knows what the meter police will see.

I’m all in favor of cashless metering but Meter EZ is the most invasive from a privacy perspective and least efficient from the functional perspective of any that I have used. (At least I didn’t have to sign up via email, I’ll give you credit for that.) I just don’t believe you really need all this information.

As a side note, why do we have to 37 different parking apps anyway? Can’t you folks form the American Association of Apps for Paying Parking or something so we can just use an app we already have?

Hey Eclipse2024! Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience. We greatly appreciate your feedback, and I'd love to clear some things up: We would love to use Apple Pay, etc, but we unfortunately cannot due to their processing fees being too high. Our company only makes pennies on each transaction. We are always looking for ways to improve this, and will definitely use Apple/Google pay in the future if possible. Our card processor requires First and Last name in order to vault a credit card, so I apologize for that. We only ask for phone as your login method, but you can also log in via. Email, Apple and Google now! Also, the color/icons for your vehicle, etc are optional and are only there to help you identify your vehicles in the app as a convenience. You can simply skip over them. Also, we now have a simplified online version for users who are only in town for a couple days, and it doesn't ask for vehicle icons, names, etc. We've also re-stickered all the parking meters with QR codes for quick access: https://park.meterez.com Regarding the $10, this is only for the EZwallet, which is for frequent parkers to save a little bit of money on the processing fee. You do not have to load your wallet to park -- you can just use your card directly as your payment method. We are also always willing to refund the unused wallet money if you reach out via. support. The parking meters in most cities (including Erie) are not smart enabled, so they will not reflect digital parking payment, but the enforcers have a tablet that shows your parking session, so as long as your plate and space number are correct, you're good to go! As a final note regarding privacy, we only require the information we need, and we don't sell it or use it for anything other than helping with support requests. We know it's inconvenient to have to download multiple apps, but all parking companies are private companies with specific contracts with each city, so there's unfortunately no way to have only one app for this. We will be taking note of this feedback and using it to improve the app, so we really do appreciate your honest feedback! If there's anything else we can do, please reach out via. the support forms in the app!

Trash

This app does everything in its power to take as much money from you as it can. If the meter is paid but the license plate is wrong, you still can get a ticket!

Response from developer

Hey Zaghft! Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience. It is necessary in every parking app to have a correct license plate and space number, because the enforcers have to scan your license plate in order to know that you're parked. If we can assist any further, please reach out via. the support forms in the app and we're happy to help!

Great user experience

I haven’t experienced any issues at all. Love the new update the UI is very sleek and modern. All together great app.

Great app!

I love using this app for any event that I’m parking at downtown. It makes everything so much easier whether it’s a night out or going to work. It’s a great addition to downtown and a great chance to support a local business

Super convenient!

I love having this app! I usually don’t have quarters the few times I have to go downtown. I panic for second, then I remember I have this app!

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback, tgdakid! Most people don't have quarters sitting around anymore, that's why we built the app! If you ever have any issues or suggestions for how we can make the app better, please reach out via. the support forms in the app!

Convenient and slick

I haven’t carried cash or change since about 2005, realizing that life is becoming increasingly digital. Parking is always a nightmare finding change or dollars (at ramps).

With this app, I pull up to a spot, spend 10 seconds conveniently paying for my parking so the traffic cops don’t get me, and am on my way.

App stores my multiple vehicles, my payment method, and makes it all so easy. Plus it looks great and modern like apps from huge cities.

Especially like the reminder when my meter is snobby to run out when I get held up doing whatever I was doing.

Definitely recommend.

Amazing

Very fast, efficient, and convenient app that revolutionizes pay-for-park. It’s amazing not having to return to my car to put more quarters in / always have to plan to carry quarters.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback, BLewi12345! Always running to the bank for quarters is definitely a pain, that's why we made the app! If you ever have any issues or suggestions for how we can make the app better, please reach out via. the support forms in the app!

So Convenient!

It’s awesome not to have to use quarters anymore or have to leave to put more quarters in a meter if I’m staying somewhere longer than expected. So easy to use and makes life a lot easier.

Who has quarters anymore?

I don’t have room for quarters in my life.
This application enables me to live an unburdened and silent existence. On top of this, it’s easy to use! Thanks MeterEZ!!!

Easy to use & reload a meter from a distance

This app is nice - no more returning to the street to add quarters, and you can see how long and what time your parking expires.

My one quibble is the $.20 transaction fee (or .40 for direct CC pay) but it’s worth the convenience.

The update is more polished and visually appealing.

Response from developer

Hey Brian! Thank you for your feedback! Just so everyone is aware, the fees exist to pay for the Visa/Mastercard fees that we incur by processing your card. It's cheaper for us when you use the wallet, which is why it's cheaper for you. Thank you for supporting a local Erie, PA business!

New Update 12/1/22

Does not allow you to change any meter or amount in the app. The new update is like a frozen screen.

Response from developer

Hey Crysyala! I apologize for the hiccups. We had a few issues in the first few days of the version 2 launch, and we've deployed a "ton" of fixes in the last week. It should be very stable now. If you have any issues at all from here on out, please reach out via. the support forms in the app, and I will personally help you out (Zach, CTO). Thank you for your patience!

Terrible

I tried adding money to the wallet in the app and it said it wasn’t successful, so I tried it again. It went through twice and now I have $20 sitting in there. What a waste! Also it is not user friendly at all. I deleted the card since I have so much in my “wallet” and it is trying to make me add a card again before I use it. Terrible.

Hey sw_erie! Sorry for the delay, we're catching up on reviews we've missed. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the app. We are always willing to assist and refund when users have issues with the app if you reach out to support. We also have a brand new meterEZ app coming out over the next week that will address this exact issue. We appreciate your business and patience. If there's anything we can do for you, just reach out to support through the app (if you haven't already).

Beware

Absolutely horrible app and service. You’re charged more for using the app and it failed to send me a notification resulting in a parking ticket. Their customer service is just as bad and refused to take responsibility for a glitch with their app. Instead they claimed it was my fault the app didn’t send a notification. I actually wanted to like this and even added $10 into the in app wallet to use. After contacting the customer service I realized that I’ll never see that money again and they refuse to refund it. Live and learn, but hopefully I can help someone from being robbed

Response from developer

Hey swags1024! I'm not sure why no one ever responded to this review. To be clear, we never refuse to refund Wallet funds to users, as it is their own money. If you contacted support, and they did not respond, the message may not have made it through. If you still have outstanding funds and would like them refunded, just let us know! Regarding app pricing, every parking app charges for their services in some way. Some cities bury the fee into the parking price, some show it. Assessing a fee is how meterEZ funds the development of the app and our ongoing expenses as a company, so users can have the convenience of parking from their phone, rather carrying around quarters. If there's anything else we can do for you, just let us know!
