METRO Connect is an on-demand microtransit service offered by Rock Region METRO. It uses smaller vehicles to provide shared, point-to-point rides within specific service zones, offering a more flexible and accessible transit option than traditional fixed-route buses.
You can schedule ride-hailing trips within a set microtransit zone using the METRO Connect app. The service operates during regular METRO Connect zone operating hours, allowing you to travel from any point within the zone to any other point within the zone.
A METRO Connect trip is designed to be affordable, costing less than traditional Transportation Network Companies. Standard METRO fares apply, as it is part of the publicly funded public transit service.
METRO Connect operates within specific microtransit zones. You can find detailed information about zone maps, operating hours, and how to connect to fixed bus routes on the Rock Region METRO website (rrmetro.org).
Microtransit is particularly effective in areas with emerging or low transit demand. It allows for on-demand, shared rides using smaller vehicles, better meeting transit needs than a full-size bus on a fixed route. This provides riders with point-to-point service and access to new destinations.
