Worked great. Paid using Apple Pay for my light rail fare without any issues

Mid.

There are zero in-app features aside from ticketing. All tools like the trip planner and bus schedules STILL direct you to the website years later. I do appreciate that I can buy a ticket with Apple Pay now, but even that is a little tedious when buying a ticket last minute. I can’t believe I’m giving 2 stars.. The bar is so low.

Horrible.

Lawsuit is about to be filed on Metro Transit if they do not fix the payment system in Big lake, MN and fix the app to allow payment with GO2 card for those with disabilities. They’ve got 10 days from the 6th of August to conform to the ADA and allow people with disabilities to use their Go2 card as a payment option on the app or risk getting sued for making life harder for those with disabilities to use their card issued by the county

Perfect App for Visiting MSP

Spent the weekend visiting the Twin Cities. This app was great for buying tickets on Metro Transit. App supports Apple Pay and you can buy multiple tickets for everyone in the group. Very easy to display tickets during a fare inspection on METRO lines and to show driver on local bus routes.

Love the App

Not sure why there’s no love for this App. It was super easy to use and was a game changer in traveling between Target Field, downtown and the airport. Highly recommend.

FAQ

What does the Metro Transit app do?

The app allows users to plan their transit trips, view real-time departure information for buses and trains, and purchase mobile tickets directly from their smartphone. It aims to make using public transportation in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area more convenient.

How do I buy tickets with the app?

After planning your trip, you can buy and use Metro Transit mobile tickets directly from your smartphone. You can pay for single or multiple fares and store them on your phone for future use. Payment can be made with credit/debit cards or pre-paid gift cards.

Is the app free to use?

Yes, the app itself is free to download and use. You will need to create an account and add a method of payment to purchase tickets, but there are no additional charges for using the app's planning and ticketing features.

Do I need an internet connection to use the app?

An internet connection is required to create an account, sign in, and to purchase and activate tickets. Once tickets are activated, you are responsible for having a valid fare at all times, so ensure your phone has sufficient battery.

What if my phone's battery dies?

Similar to paper tickets, you are responsible for ensuring you have a valid fare at all times. If your phone's battery dies, you will not be able to present a valid ticket, so it is important to plan ahead and monitor your battery level.
