Useful, when it works.
This app has been helpful as an Australian travelling in Vietnam, but also the cause of all the payment pain points during the trip. From a problem with one of their partners with no communication in app or otherwise until resolution, constant failed payments despite 5G network coverage, or general app instability - it's just been a bit of a dud user experience. When it was working thought, it did its job well. Just wish it was more reliable.

Hit or miss- lack of reliability
Paying with this app in Vietnam is really hit or miss. Sometimes payments simply won’t go through, without any warning or notification from Moreta. When you’re paying a 2.5% fee on every deposit, you’d think they could at least send a message letting customers know when the service is down

Great product until it doesn’t work as it did
I have just returned to Vietnam and resumed my usual life, relying on Moreta QR for absolutely everything; there have been two vendors, so far, whose QR has not worked (but definitely did three weeks ago) so I can only assume that there has been a change with some bank somewhere - I hope business as usual will prevail …

Works until they update!
Super useful, super reliable, have used in a couple of countries and their support is surprisingly fast. But I’m dropping 2 stars because every time the app updates it logs you out and doesn’t remember the account you logged in with. Of course I’m standing at the side of the road having already ordered noodles and I need to pay, Moreta had silently updated, I try to use it and … “Hello new user”, what a joke, when I open it its because I need to pay *now*, I can’t go back home and use password manager, and if I didn’t have backup a QR pay this would have been a tricky situation! Keeping me logged in, with my biometric auth, even across updates is incredibly important UX. Will be looking for more alternatives - yes the onboarding is nice, but im a customer already - the last thing I need is the fancy new onboarding screen

You can’t pay street vendors
It’s so hard to find someone in Thailand that actually has a business account. Majority of the locals only have a personal prompt pay.
So convenient
It’s truly been so convenient and no hassles and accepted at 99% of the places I’ve done business with. I’m grateful for this app.
Be very wary
I am physically in Brazil right now trying to use this app to pay via PIX. Just when I need it most, while I am physically in a foreign country, the app fails and then they lock my account. To all Americans, I strongly discourage using this service!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is not accepted as payment in Thailand as they stated. I tried using this several times even at large businesses and it still was not accepted. Now I am trying to figure out how to get my money back that was loaded up. Do not use!!! If I could leave 0 reviews I would. Just withdraw cash from atm at one time or bring Your countries currency and exchange it at an exchange company. When you arrive in Phuket there are hundreds of exchange booths at the airport.

Update: I put money on here in spite of my reservations. Almost every time I try to use it, it ends up being a personal QR and therefore useless. Even places that look like they should have a business QR code are actually personal. Until this is enabled for personal QR there is no point to the app. You will need cash.
The exchange rate is significantly lower than the current mid market rate so you lose money on that. Then you have to pay 1.5% for each transaction!?! That will add up fast. Better to get a bank card with no foreign transaction fees and withdraw enough cash so you rarely have to go to an atm and pay more fees.

Slow Verication even with secure Plaid
So, they verify with plaid, which is secure. but they still want a bank statement on top of that, has been SEVERAL days3+ and still not verified. Do they stall to make fees off credit card fees?

I’m travelling around Vietnam and use it every day. It's by far the easiest and most convenient way to pay at local shops
