I normally don’t write bad reviews and I wished that I paid attention more to the ones I saw before I invested in Byte.
I followed the directions and check-ins religiously and would report ill fitted aligners/pain during each check in. I was never told to stop and stay in a set of aligners for a longer duration or given any guidance other than to file down pain points.
I got through my entire top treatment and was devastated that my teeth didn’t look much different. The app prompted me to order retainers and I put in a request that I wasn’t happy with my results. Then, and only then did the dentist that was supposed to be looking at my check-ins actually decide to look at my progress.
I was then instructed to go all the way back to step 4 of my treatment plan and to wear the aligners longer.
I went through and did the entire process again from step 4.
My aligners fit great with the
Extended amount of time. But I again finished my top treatment and my top teeth still weren’t straight. They sent me an “over correction” with a few more aligners.
During this time my app quit working properly because it wouldn’t recognize the “over correction aligners” that they assigned to me. I had tried multiple times to get it resolved before I gave up. I wasn’t able to check in and it wouldn’t offer the right number of aligners on my app.
So I just did my best to change out my aligners when they felt comfortable without gaps after 3+ weeks.
I finished the treatment and my front teeth (while much better than they used to be) are still not straight.
I tried again to see if they could fix this as they “guarantee” that they’ll make sure you’re happy with your end result and was told I wasn’t eligible for anymore aligners. (I suspect because I had just finished paying them off).
I’m disappointed and feel that I wasted over two thousand dollars because I am going to have to go to my regular dentist to finish the treatment.
Poor service
Scam for money..?
I complained to them saying it was just a mistake they then sent me one more set and told me that to keep my protection I would not throw away the old set and to also get a replacement every 6 months which they would then remind me when it is time. Then they had me sign something which I did.
I had thought all was well and so when I reached out because this set is old and a little broken they said that “I don’t meet the criteria to renter treatment”. When I asked why they just repeated the same thing.
Because my treatment has ended I figured this would be a perfect time to really conclude what I think.
So first off the app barely works. They send you emails and such and it’s never in app. What’s the point of having an app that requires you to go onto a site every time.
2nd thing the aligners are cheep, they crack easily don’t often fit comfortably because they don’t cover the whole teeth. Not to mention they really only give you the impression that it’s fixing your teeth because it only really covers the front teeth. The back ones will be in disarray. With that in mind, it also will not necessarily make your bite even. I felt I had a pretty even bite beforehand but by shifting my teeth my often don’t connect now.
Also note by not wearing the retainers your teeth will shift back. By canceling my service essentially my teeth will revert back and I’ve wasted my money.
The customer service takes quite a while to receive response and is often unhelpful. Giving automated responses and so you have to keep going through the process to talk to someone to then be transferred to a superior all through email.
I’m not one to complain a lot but I’ve received better customer service in the worst places. I know for a fact this company will probably just take my money and run so I’m here to just warn you. If you do try to this company don’t throw away your retainers, don’t purchase the protection plan, and honestly understand that this may be more hassle than just going to an ortho.
