Bought a 50$ gift card from vanilla activated it waited 24 hours it declined every single thing i tried to buy called customer service they said they couldn’t do anything about it DONT BUY VANILLA GIFT CARDS!!

I’m so fed up with MyVanilla! My card was flagged so they deactivated it THEY DONT EVEN TELL YOU I called support to get the card reactivated so I could get gas now I have to wait 7-14 days for a new card. I tried to tell them I’m the only one that uses the card and listed my recent transactions and cost which they confirmed but still refused to reactivate it.
I’m through with this company. When my new card comes I’m withdrawing all the money and calling to deactivate the card and taking my business to a different card company. No one should use MyVanilla PERIOD.

VANILLA IS A SCAM!
This company is a complete scam! Can’t use my money despite the fact I’ve waited the 24 hours, my card is active, I have plenty of balance on my card, and no other rules for the use of the card is applicable for my case! Their website works about 20% of the time, otherwise I get a system error. The only way to contact them is through the mail (not EMAIL, I mean MAIL), or their crappy customer “care” number that’s completely automated and gives you no chance to speak to a human. It’s unbelievable this card is sold in every major retail store yet you can’t spend your money! This company deserves to be sued and every person in charge needs to be in prison for FRAUD. I will be attempting to get a refund from the store I bought this from. RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM VANILLA AS POSSIBLE!

I do not have a user name and there is NO option to get one. I have no idea what I have on my card and I am trying to find out why I keep getting declined for payments online when I JUST ADDED MONEY!!! SO DISGUSTING!
Waste of money
I can't comment on the app, because the card they sold me was invalid on its face (missing card number). All they can do is issue me a new card, hopefully within two weeks, at which point it will be too late to give as a gift.

i have one of these gift cards right and like not even 2 days of my having it it gets put on for no reason at all 🤔, i call customer care and get put on hold for a representative and end up spending ages on hold, no representative 🤵♂️, no paper 💵, and worst of all you have to spend so long listening to the crappy music they put no effort into 🎸💦💧🌊, along with the 1950s quality recording of someone telling you to wait and be patient every 30 seconds like i didn’t hear what they said 30 seconds ago, nor a minute ago, and every other time they repeated it. as of now the card is still on hold but do yourself a favor and never get one of these crappy made cards and save yourself decades of waiting on their customer service line with no representative appearing in the end result, if they even have any. by taking this note i’m positive you will for sure have saved yourself one humongous headache. 🤦♂️🤦♂️

Don’t you ever think to buy gift card from Vanilla! It’s the biggest scam! Horrible absolute HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Holding the phone for HOURS!! Listening that garbage music, and every minute..”please remain on the Line until the next representative !!!” And of course the $100 gift card was not used once! But I was holding the line the total of 4 hours if not more! Filing a fraud over a month ago. That was the first time I was planning to use this card.. on a gas station.. then and there the card informations was stolen, and couldn’t even use the card for gas. Then for curiosity I did checked the balance, and instead of $100, my balance was $28.🤔????? So the card was used for Target online purchase. Filed a case, and ever since. No response, no card, no money! HORRIBLE! Do not buy this for anyone, unless you want to give a headache to your family or friend..

Please do yourself a favor and don’t get a MyVanilla card. You can’t even load it online. You have to go to select locations just to put money on it where they charge you fees for loading it. They also take money from the card after a certain period of time. And half the time the card doesn’t even work when trying to make a purchase. Complete scam and this app is pointless.

Myvanilla has a terrible wait time online to talk with a representative. Before you can even get someone on the phone you must chose one of their new options which none of them were even close to my problem that needed to fixed. Mind you I was disconnected from their system several times. With covid-19 the high anxiety that I experience from OCD and ADHD is off the charts so dealing with something so annoying I waited almost 2 years to fix, knowing I have $300 on a prepaid card that I’ve never been able to use. The blocked my card for no reason, not the starter card you get at the store but the one mailed to you with your name on it after you register all your info. That’s how I knew it was blocked, I even took a picture of the screen showing it blocked for proof. And the same screen showing that they had deducted $36.00 from my balance. I have never used this card! On top of that my passcode that I’ve had the same 4 digit number and NOT forgotten, as it’s my daughters birthday, was not the same. The representative that helped me said that passcodes are not allowed to be two repetitive numbers, well that’s not true or I never could have set that as my passcode 5-6 years ago. After I use this card, I will not add more cash to the card but destroy it as well as leave hundreds of bad reviews online to warn other people of their bad business and fraudulent charges. You might as well use a regular local bank that charges high monthly fees because it’s still cheaper then this one. I should’ve stayed with Wells fargo bank then this company that rips me off $36.00 for no reason and charges me $1.00 per transactions when I us it for online shopping only anyways.

Worst App, and service
Literally the worst prepaid card ever. I had put $395 on card to pay a bill, downloaded the app, got it all set up and was never able to log in again. Called to make my bill payment for $385 and it declined with insufficient funds. Tried to get into app to no avail, tried calling customer service, not able to get through so thankfully my car loan service kept running the card until we got to the amount that would go through. $380 finally was the winner. Well my question is where did that other $15 go? I added up all the fees and could not get any where near the fees associated with not having made any purchases with it yet. So the card I just received in the mail with my name on it has already made it to the trash! I highly recommend no one gets this card. I also live in a small town and spoke with management on where I purchased the card and suggested they rid themselves of these cards. I surely hope they do. Netspend I used to use years ago and they were great. I highly recommend Netspend!!
