Timezone issues persist

You can’t find or book a ticket if you happen to be in a timezone before the Netherlands. Doesn’t show any trains, not fixed for several month or maybe forever. What a joke of a team maintaining this app! Zero skills!

Frustrated

The app would not let me book the dates I wanted - I wanted Monday and it would go to Tues or return trip was wrong - I got super frustrated with it.

Peter

Easy to check times and options. Clear layout and often provides connections and routes other apps don't find.
One of the best apps for international trains across Europe

Trains are Nice

It feels amazing to use an app to arrange cross-country TRAIN travel. Sincerest delight from a traumatized American

Poor functionality

The monitors on the train don’t show arrival times that are synchronized with the app. And the app updates for delays with irregularity and doesn’t show the new arrival time but just an estimate of how many mins the train is late. Also the markings on seats on train that mark when it is occupied aren’t synched. Old tech basically

Bad

Live in the Uk and I had to used a different internet app to pay for my ticket goes the previous one was telling me that my card doesn’t work !!??

Timezone issues

The app is completely broken if you try to book a train from a timezone that is “earlier” than the Netherlands (e.g. Canada/US). I tried letting them know through various channels but they don’t think it’s worth fixing.

So far so good after Safari setting adjustment — enabled javascript

When I tried to log into my account, an “Access Denied” error occurred on a plain white page along with some error code and a http:// url (instead of https:// btw).

The problem was I had Javascript off in Safari’s advanced settings because I use Brave browser instead of Safari.

But some apps like this are pretty much web-based and depend on the i phone’s internal Safari/webkit for operation even if the default browser isn’t Safari.

It would have helped if the error showed “this app requires javascript” instead of “Access Denied.”

I only figured it out because another completely unrelated non-tech industrial company app I just installed showed “this app requires javascript” when hitting its Login button. After enabling Javascript for that app, I thought to try the NS international and plain NS logins again and they worked!

Whew!

This app, the plain NS app and the unrelated app I just installed are the only ones I’ve used since the iphone came out years ago that depend so heavily on the iphone’s internal safari javascript setting.

That’s ok, btw. I assume it’s much cheaper and easier to design an app that way, especially for non-tech companies.

Uh, no

Absolutely zero help / documentation on using this app. Guess this written by the same people as the OVpay app.

App lets you see schedule but cannot book... must use ns.nl site. Then what ? Then put some code in. Then how to use code to travel ??? NAFC. Dang, I'll just go buy a ticket in person.

Smarter disruption handling

If part of a journey is cancelled, the app should not only send a notification, but also suggest clear alternative routes to help me reach my destination. This would make the experience much more user-friendly and reduce stress during disruptions

Can’t get it to load Amsterdam tickets

I can’t get tickets I’ve purchased loads into the app. I’ve tried on multiple devices, multiple browsers.

I do financial software integration for a living. If I’m having problems, so are many other people.

Broken after latest update

With the latest update it’s not possible to buy tickets within the app. And any tickets you buy via ns.nl are not loading in the app - the deep link in the e-mail is broken. Also can’t load manually, as the order number does not match the expected app format.

Excellent

Very user friendly App. Excellent service

Kan niet omgaan met vertraging

Lijkt prima te werken, maar als 1 van je treinen vertraging heeft loopt de hele app in de soep.

Netherlands by rail

The best way to travel in the Netherlands is by rail the NS International app is clear and works well.

Usually very good.

When it is working it makes for seamless travel.
In the rare occasions it does not,
It leaves one in limb with no way out.

Easy to use

Found the website really easy to follow

Connection errors, not showing travel options, etc

This app leaves a lot to be desired. Constant connection errors, it’s not showing connections that I know are available, it’s glitchy. To make changes to travel you get redirected to the website, what’s the point of that?!

Could not use

They sent an email confirmation but my booking code was not included and when I tried to load the tickets it would not work. I I tried several times. Out my money for train ticket’s and zero I customer service!!!

Travel Made Easy (TME)

Booked tickets from Amsterdam to Düsseldorf, with ease, seat reservations & no problems from USA. All ticket information downloaded to my phone intuitively & without hassle. Looking forward to the ride.
