Now closed captioning on by default

Is it possible for your developers to make an update without screwing something up. Now, closed captioning us turned on by default if I stream live. I turn I off and the next day it is back on. Why would this be. Annoying.

Still waiting for a reason why Transfers were moved to a separate tab so it takes me about 4 steps instead of one to get to the feature I use the most. Do you actually have real customers test functionality before release. One of the worst customer facing UI I have encountered.

Well, this app just got even worse. Now, with IOS 14 the app will pair to my Hopper but goes no further. Screen says logging in but stays on screen with Dish logo. Same with my iPhone and the Dish Anywhere app. Come on developer. This cannot be that hard. I have shows I want to watch offline and this app is now completed unusable. Seriously thinking of switching providers.

Just updated to new version and all shows I had transferred to my iPad are gone. Great job Dish. Again, do you people not test anything before putting in production. How is every update a downgrade.

Received a developer response which was nothing more than a canned response with a series of steps and questions. It was obvious no one actually read my review. All the transfers I had are gone. Nothing I can do to get them back. Also, still would love to know why transfers was moved off the main menu.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know you are experiencing this issue. This is certainly not the experience we want you to have with our DISH Anywhere App. A lot of times resetting the app and your device helps with this issue. If you've tried these steps and are still experiencing issues, please send the following details to danyprod@dish.com: 1. Device type/model 2. iOS version (Screenshot from phone Settings) 3. DISH Anywhere App version 4. Is the device connected via Wi-Fi or cellular data? 5. Specific error message or behavior (Provide screenshot of error message, if available) 6. What were you doing when you saw the message or behavior? 7. Are you seeing a similar issue on your receiver?

Update not working

Was told I needed to have 800kbps and 4 mbps and tried right in front of hopper in my home and it still didn’t work correctly. So speed doesn’t seem to be the main problem. It is a poorly redesigned app. Worked great last year and beginning of the year. Should have kept it the way it was

This used to work great. Now it stops streaming constantly and it isn’t very clear. Tried calling and we uninstalled and reinstalled and it still didn’t do anything to fix connection to hopper while traveling. Very disappointing since I travel a lot. Couldn’t get items deleted from prime either while traveling. Whatever update has been it doesn’t seem to be working correctly for me.n

Old app was great

When you read the reviews sort by “most recent.” You will see almost 100% one stars. The most common problem is slow buffering. Please just give us the old app back as an option .

I loved the old app. It worked like a dream. Unfortunately, I had automatic update turned on in my most used iPad. What a mistake.
I see with the latest update the skip forward, pause , and skip back buttons have been returned to their rightful place. Now, if you could just put the remote icon back for those of us who watch live tv. Here is what I found after having to research.

Select All Channels.
Select Live Stream.
Select the program you want to watch.
Select the play icon.
Four step now instead of one. I have thought for months that I could no longer live stream. Fortunately, I had auto update off on an older iPad thus I moved that one Into my kitchen. Now will turn off auto update on this iPad until I read reviews. Just make this easier FS1 dish lovers and restore the older app !

Update. I spoke too soon.i had one device that had update turned off and had one device that worked great. I hit the update all button and now see in real time how awful this new app is. My programs stop and start or freeze. The old app did not do this.

Hello, Sailvic. We are aware of this issue and are currently working on a solution. We are collecting feedback from our members so that we can resolve it as soon as possible. Can you send us an email at danyprod@dish.com including the issue you are experiencing, your device type, device operation version, and DISH Anywhere version please?

Bad update!

Since last update, the guide no longer shows all my subscribed channels and also no longer shows the channel number! Guide on app now useless! Please fix.
Update: i finally just tried signing out of app and back in and this worked so I now can see all my subscribed channels and their numbers. I then got an email from developer telling me to reset receiver, but I did not have to do that. Please make sure to test app updates better in the future so end users do not have problems. This app remains one I do not rely on to always work correctly.

No Control

Are you ever going to bring back the functionality of controlling Joeys and Hoppers from the app? Even the outdated graphics being used on the App Store lead consumers to believe this is possible. Many of your customers have asked repeatedly for either access to the old app, or inclusion if this feature. I’ve been monitoring the updates and diligently installing them with hopes of the feature being restored. I disabled the auto update feature after being so disappointed with the new app version. I note that since you released the new app your reviews have literally been nothing except 1, with many indicating they’re considering a change of service or that they would have rated this a zero if they could have. Are you planning on restoring this feature? As it is now, the best use of this app is only as a guide to see what’s on, and even that requires effort.

FAQ

What can I do with the DISH Anywhere app?

The app allows you to watch live TV channels and recorded shows from your home DISH subscription on your iPad or iPhone. You can also manage your DVR, access thousands of on-demand movies and shows, and follow your favorite sports teams with live scores and game information.

What equipment do I need to use DISH Anywhere?

To stream live TV and DVR content, you need an online DISH account and a Hopper 2 or Hopper 3 receiver model. Users with an online DISH account but without a supported receiver can still access the On Demand and Live Stream features of the app.

Can I watch content offline?

Yes, you can transfer your DVR recordings to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to watch them offline. You can also download purchased shows and movies for offline viewing. This functionality requires a high-speed internet connection to your Hopper 2 or Hopper 3 DVR.

Is there a cost to use the DISH Anywhere app?

The DISH Anywhere app itself is free to download and use. However, it requires an active DISH Network subscription and a compatible Hopper receiver to access most of its features, such as live TV and DVR streaming.

How does the app use my data?

If you have T-Mobile, DISH Anywhere is part of Binge-On, allowing you to watch without using your mobile data allowance. The app also features Nielsen's proprietary measurement software, which allows users to contribute to market research like TV ratings.
