Good tool bad experience

Same as many here their licence management is a nightmare always has been, tool is nice but costly given it’s old for instance it is not integrated with modern Ai tools… Had Omniplan 3 lost access, won’t even bother.

The Best of the Best

Liquid Glass, please.

Running the trial version, and

It’s… ok. No dashboard that I can find. No way to view multiple projects at the same time. It just feels very limited.

Сервис плохой

Cannot turn off Critical Path!

In the iPad version, you cannot turn off critical path. That means each bar and each connector is highlighted, in a very distracted and cluttered way. Hey Ken Case, I am a long time subscriber to every Omni app, please fix this finally!

Terrible

I’ve been using OmniGroup products like OmniPlan, and my experience has been nothing short of frustrating. For the price they charge, I expected a lot more in terms of customer support, software functionality, and integration, but OmniGroup has consistently underdelivered in all these areas.

Support is Abysmal
First off, the support is terrible. You’d think with how much OmniGroup charges for their software, they’d have a responsive and professional support team. But no—don’t expect them to answer the phone, and when they finally do, the experience is often rude and unhelpful. They even discourage using their own internal sync solution (OmniSync Server), despite their documentation recommending it. It’s a complete disconnect between what they promise and what they deliver.

Documentation is Outdated
The documentation on their website is outdated, which only adds to the confusion. When you encounter an issue—and trust me, you will—you’ll find that their instructions are either missing key details or refer to settings and options that no longer exist. It feels like they’ve given up on keeping their users informed, leaving you to figure things out on your own.

Software Lacks Basic Functionality
In 2024, apps are expected to integrate seamlessly across ecosystems and devices. But OmniPlan, even with its hefty price tag, struggles to get basic sync functionality right. Getting my OmniPlan projects to sync from my Mac to my iPhone has been a nightmare, and I’m left with broken software that I paid $20/mo for—a so-called “privilege” that isn’t worth it.

What’s more infuriating is that instead of fixing their built-in sync solution or providing reliable alternatives, they seem to expect users to cobble together workarounds. It’s unacceptable for software that’s supposed to be professional-grade.

Final Verdict
OmniGroup needs to step up their game—significantly. For the premium price they charge, they need to invest in quality support, keep their documentation up to date, and, most importantly, develop software that works as advertised. As it stands, you’re paying for the privilege of troubleshooting broken software and dealing with unresponsive support. Save your money and find a solution that actually works.

Omni Productivity

My senior executive productivity for big projects is super charged with 3 interconnected Omni apps. OmniPlan to plan, map, monitor and update. OmniOutliner to track and identify progress accross multiple metrics. OmniFocus to drive daily focus and effort. In this combination, for me, these Omni apps genrate consistent results and deliver a clear return on my investment in time and money. Thank you The Omni Group.

great for visualising project timelines & dependencies

sharing Gantt charts with clients has really reassured them that things were well in-hand — and generating them really forces you to think things through by showing where the bottlenecks are.

very good

Its easy to use and is very helpful for me

A great project management app

A really comprehensive and powerful project management app. I love that you can enhance it with JavaScript scripts using Omni Automation. It's very good at adapting your project if you need to make changes. The network diagram is a great way to see and set up dependencies. Leveling gives you a plan that optimizes your use of resources. Lots of ways to track costs, including costs over time. I'm brand new to project management, but found it very intuitive to start using this and learn more as I went. Support is also very good, and answers quickly. I definitely recommend this! It also syncs with your iPad and iPhone.

Obtuse

Virtually impossible to export your plan to a PDF file. Whoever developed this was not thinking.

Demo mode only

Don’t download if you don’t have a membership.

Expected more for the price

First thing which discouraged me was the manditory online account creation, even though I couldn't get a convincing reason from Omni why it was needed.

The next thing was how un-Mac like it felt, which was strange since it's Mac only. It doesn't fit in with the consistent UI we are used to with Apple products.

I also couldn't find any way to have sub-projects (where the progress of one project would influence other ones), the ability to prioritise minimising project cost, and a few other things I expected to be there.

Some levelling results scheduled tasks for times when their resources weren't available and other strange behaviours.

It's great software, but at v4 I thought it would have been better.

Scam

Don't buy!!! I've been unable to unlock my purchase made! It's a complete scam that takes your money without a workable product. Absolutely terrible. There are better solutions out there.

Rip off

I purchased this app a while ago and paid WAY too much. I utilized it a few times and then quit using it. I recently reopened it, and I discovered I have to pay for it again. It wasn't worth it the first time; believe me, it's certainly not worth it the second time. DO NOT BUY!

Response from developer

Apologies for the confusion, and for the delay replying! It sounds like you may have purchased a previous version of OmniPlan. If this purchase was made via the App Store, it should be available for re-installation via your "Purchased" app list. If recovering your previous purchase is something you are interested in doing at this point in time, our team would be happy to help out. Цена - жесть !!!

18000 ₽ за приложение ?!😂

I Can’t Print or Save in PDF format

After the update a couple of weeks ago, it cannot be printed or saved to pdf because inconsistent characters are coming out. The letters and words are reversed. It already has quite a few shortcomings and now this!
