Helps build confidence at the gym

I’ve never felt confident in being able to use gym equipment until I began using this app. It’s very helpful in tracking how much weight I’m using and when to increase in weights or in reps. There are also videos on how to use the equipment and the option to switch exercises based on preference.

Love this app!

I really love the workouts and the way the app functions and looks. I had one issue with the app and the team was very responsive and helpful. I’ll definitely stick with this one!

Frustrating

I just downloaded this app and took the leap to purchase my first month. However, every time I close out of the app and go into it, it makes me write my name, age, choose a plan, answer all the fitness questions before I can workout. Non of my progress has been saved and it won’t keep my place for my next days workout. This is extremely frustrating and makes it hard to continue this process every time I open the app…

Was Better in the Past

I have been using this app on and off for several years. Hannah’s glute guides & quad squad guides were SO EFFECTIVE. But now they are gone. I’ve looked through several of the muscle building plans and they’re all basically the same exact exercises in the same order now. Not as much variation. I know a lot of people come to this app to grow legs & glutes, but I’m not seeing the very useful & specific guides that were there before. Current interface isn’t quite as user friendly either, but it definitely has a very professional look.

Please revert to before the update

Prior to the update 5 stars. Loved everything about it. Now it’s not as user friendly. It takes multiple clicks or attempts to change the number of reps I did. When i click on the workout I’m going to do, sometimes it completes the workout for the following week rather than the workout I selected. Also, with the update I lost all my progress. I did prefer the interface of the previous version. I’m going to keep using the app but before I had no notes. Now it’s slightly irritating.

This update has been exhausting

The refresh looks great, but the rollout of it has been a complete disaster. It feels like nothing was tested, workouts and plans were not checked. Warmups were completely missing or missing most of the warmup. Specific exercises are missing from options, if you have two of the same exercise in the same workout they are linked vs. independent. Some workouts are completely blank on the Get Lean 1.0. Every time something is “fixed” something else breaks or fixes don’t get put in at all. I miss the old app it worked, it was reliable, the workouts were great, and I could trust I would come into the gym and I know I’d have my workout. It makes me really sad because I love this app and I love Hanna but this has been awful

Not happy

A membership was available through my employer so I decided to test it. Despite the plan being fully paid for a year directly via work at the signup, the app requires a credit card and a subscription agreement to even start using it. I definitely won’t be renewing unless this changes.

At the signup you get asked a lot of questions about yourself, your preferences, how you want to use it. Sounds great, but then after all that the first recommended program for me on the welcome screen was “home pregnancy plan” with a heading “specifically tailored for you”. Me - not pregnant, old, etc which is what I just answered in the questions.

In addition, the app is pretty useless on an ipad. The bottom of the menu gets cut off, I can’t use any filters because the button to confirm the selection gets cut off (I assume, just can’t even see it; the selection I make does not stay active).

Update Not Working

What happened? The recent update has bugs, doesnt let you keep a plan. I have to look for the guide everytime I start de app… it never saves in my dashboard. My “plan” section shows no guides when I selected one. Been a user for so long… Not the best :(

Hate this new update

I’ve used this app for a few years and love it, but the newest update deleted all my old workout data, my progress on my current programming, and lost great features like the timer that would work while in other apps. Really disappointing and I hope the bugs get fixed asap

Recent Update Problems

I have been using this app for some time. I don’t like the new update. I used to be able to see the alternate exercises before “starting a plan” this is useful because I like to know if I’ll be able to do a plan with the equipment I have at home before starting it.
The newest update is taking me extra time to get through and start workouts as I’m trying to figure out how to use it.
I will be canceling my membership as the app isn’t giving me the seemless use it was before and it isn’t cheap.

Some bugs and can’t access notes

Really enjoy using the app (used back in 2021 stopped for a little now I’m back to it!) just a couple minor issues
1. When writing notes during exercises there is a bit of a glitch (letters moving around - have to type very slowly so this doesn’t happen)
2. there isn’t an option to see your past notes on exercises during the workout (you can see what you did previously in terms of set and reps but not the specific notes written) - would be amazing if this could be added!

I have been using this app for two or three years and have seen it through many updates, usually they increase usability. I will be first to admit maybe I am not using it right but it feels downright unusable since the latest update. There is not as much flexibility to go out of order on the exercises and I tried to do a circuit and the sets were not working, it only recorded one set

New update

I have followed Hanna for years. She is the best! Own U has always been great but I’m really struggling with the new update. It does not flow well. I also used the macro counter daily but it is no longer available even though the app description has it as available and as something I am paying for.

New Update

I lost almost all my progress but I was 1 workout away from finishing the plan so not a big deal but even worse is that the notes just disappear now.

However, this latest update is horrible. I’m sure it needs ironing out, but every time I open it, it asks me to confirm my subscription. Then it doesn’t have the correct days workout loaded at the Home Screen. It did not successfully record my workout from the first day using since updating. The timer no longer alerts me that I have 3 seconds left before the start of the next set, which leaves me sitting there zoned out waiting to be alerted to get moving. It’s not user friendly. It had two of the same guides loaded with different progress points. It’s a mess. I really look forward to the fix for this. Truthfully, the new design is not sleek and does not look much better. Please fix it. I almost switched to a different program just because of this.

12/28 - I just received an app update for minor bug fixes. The issues above still persist. My workout is incorrect by one day ahead. My timer for a 30 minute cardio workout is not tracking unless I keep the app open (though I watch YouTube during cardio to distract myself), and I cannot manually enter my cardio time.

Not a great update

I just started back in the gym after 1.5 years off due to health issues. Two weeks into a plan I get an error message that says my password is not correct and I have to reset it. I get into the app, and the plan I was working on is no longer selected and my progress from the last two weeks is gone. However it’s showing me a plan that I hadn’t touched since June ‘24.

The app now feels clunky to me and I hate that the timer no longer has sound with it - it also stops if you go into a different app on your phone when it used to continue.

New update glitch

New update doesn’t actually let you change to the alternative exercise when you try to. This feature is super important to me bc I workout at home and I don’t have all the commercial equipment that is sometimes needed. Also sad my previous guide and workout data was lost and reset.

Recent Update (Dec 2025)

I am not impressed with the update of this app. First of all, I lost all of my progress in the middle of doing one of the plans. And now upon going back and putting in the information so I can keep track of my progress, I noticed that even some of the workouts have changed in the short and short efficient 2.0 guide. I liked the way the app was before it had no issues. Unfortunately, this recent update really makes use this app ever again after my month is up!! Extremely inconsistent.

Okay

I’ve been using this app since it started on and off. I’ve really been enjoying it over the years. There’s so many features about it that I do like unfortunately, their latest update has me reconsidering. I picked a specific guide according to my exercise goals and what I have available in my home gym. I was two weeks into it. I loved it. This update came out and all of the exercises completely changed in my guide, all of my information was lost and deleted, they removed the audible countdown timer in the last three seconds. You have the option to change an exercise according to the equipment you have but when I click on that exercise that I want to do to change, nothing happens. They obviously pushed a poorly planned update before everyone’s New Year resolutions.
