What's New in Pathize

March 5, 2024

We continue to improve Pathize as quickly as possible during our transition to an open beta. As always, we'd love to hear your feedback! Features: - we've added a "check-ins" section to the home screen. this new section lets you record check-ins quickly without relying on tapping on the notification. it also lets you record check-ins on past days easily - we've removed morning and evening reminders in favor of the reminders that come with check-ins. Bug fixes: - we've improved Pathize's energy efficiency. you might notice that Pathize uses less battery life and crashes less often

Unstable and doesn’t display budget % consistently

Update: I did cancel subscription. Developers never responded to emails for support. Knocking off another star.

The app has good bones and the ability to use Apple Watch to log activity is great. Tho I wish there was a complication that let you see where you were on your daily budget so you don’t have to open the actual app which is SLOW and very buggy.

The app requires a subscription of $15 per month in order to work which is pretty steep for something that is still in a janky beta version. I’ll keep it going for a few months and hope issues described below( and many others) are cleared up. Still, Asking $15 every month takes some real chutzpah on their part. I hope they come up with some other long term discount, assuming they don’t give up and stop developing.

This app seems to crash a lot and HR info is often very slow to load or doesn’t load at all.

The percentage of daily budget only displays erratically, most of the time it says I’ve used 0% of my budget despite the fact I’ve spent many hours over my HR limit.

Some sleep info is missing on some days dispite HealthKit showing sleep that day so I don’t know why there are gaps in those graphs.

It would also be useful if it could send a notification if you are spending too much too early in the day rather than having to check the app all day…exp since it takes so long to load.

Great app that has room to grow

Pathize has been incredibly helpful for me, though it still needs some work. The data is really helpful but widgets and notifications should really push this to the top. Being able to see my energy budget directly on my watch for example instead of having to pull out my phone and open the app would help with awareness. Also if there were notifications that you're spending over x amount of time over your limit, it might help people pace themselves in real time. I haven't experienced too much bugginess or syncing issues, although the Ask function never seems to work. Despite all of these little things, I still love the app and hope the team keeps making improvements.

Super helpful

Definitely still a work in progress, but extremely helpful for those of us dealing with these conditions. Just having all the metrics in real time and stacked is great, but with the features that are still in progress this app will be a huge help.

Great app!

Have started using the app and I find the metrics useful enough so I can manage to pace myself. Hope that you can add brief explainers about the metrics though, similar to the UI of Garmin for example, so users won’t have to navigate through the app.
Overall though, I think this app has been the best by far. Also hoping you can open this to a larger market outside N. America since long COVID will be a problem in many other countries.
