Why do I need an account

It’s just a timer app to tell you when to change your filter. Why do you need to register an account. Rubbish.

Pointless

This app is useless. Notifications don’t work so I never know when my filter needs changing. It’s been like this for well over a year and while I’ve waited pat into for them to give a damn, I’ve lost patience now so I’m looking into an alternative

Pitiful app

This app has one job. To remind you when to change the filter. It signs you out and doesn’t work. The other reviews show that this is not a new problem. That’s says a lot about their approach to customer service. I’ve cancelled my filter subscription and bought the materials elsewhere. If you google Phox filter replacements you’ll find better and cheaper alternatives from a business that does listen to their customers.

Rubbish app

App is rubbish, can’t get in to see reminders. No help available. So will delete app and look for different supplier.

Cannot access

Stuck in a loop of trying to sign in even tried changing password but still stuck on sign in screen.

Super buggy

The app is not great. Constantly logs me out, doesn’t send reminders when I set it up to, and now currently will not recognise my password despite resetting it multiple times. Terrible app. (Product is good though, would still purchase regardless of app. Just would be better with useful app!!)

Not working

The app was brilliant for a few years but for the last 6 months or so I cannot get it to work. It refuses to log me in or send me a password update.

What? No reminder?

I used to get the timely reminders in the run up to needed to refresh my filter. Now I don’t. I see other people are. I uninstalled the app and then reinstalled it. But no. Looks different. It still no timely reminders.

It does notify, but that’s all it does

The notification to replace the filter is finally working consistently! I feel like the one thing missing from this app is the instructions on how to replace the filter, it only needs to be replaced every 45 days so I never remember if I’m supposed to soak or rinse the filter or whatever to prep it. I always end up having to go to the website and searching for the instructions, it just seems like an easy and helpful thing to put in the app so I don’t have to dig for the information every time.

A bit pointless.

If the app sent notifications when to replace the medium, it would be great, but it doesn’t. So it’s a bit pointless. If they fixed this it would be great.

You don’t need this app (UPDATE)

(EDITED): Since writing this review Phox has given the app a complete overhaul and it appears to now work as intended. Therefore I have updated my review. While this app is not essential (you can still just make your own reminders) it’s only fair to rate it for the job it does well and I do find it very helpful now. Thank you!

I can’t login

I can’t login and can’t reset the password.
The login details work on the website but the app doesn’t recognise them

Newest update is not so great

The older version had a better visual experience than the newest version. I only have one Phox filter in my household and don’t expect needing a second one at the same time. The lifetime of the filter now is shown as a list and no longer in a circle format, which was way better.

Suggestion: only show the list form if multiple filters are added to the app.

Requires Account

Why does an app for a water filter jug which has a single purpose to remind you when your filter needs changing require an account? Personal details should not be required for this.

Very Buggy, No Customer Support

I was keen to try out the new updated version of the app as it could be useful if it worked, but unfortunately I cannot login. It tells me that my account details are incorrect, but there is no way to reset password or sign up. I’m stuck on a screen that requires login details and gives no other options. Redownloading the app makes no difference. It took almost a week to get ahold of customer service, who then sent me information about other issues and I had I re-ask and send screenshots over and over and over. They came to the conclusion that the app version in the App Store wasn’t up to date and that the customer needs to contact Apple to get Apple to update the version of their app in the App Store. I said I would like to raise a complaint and have yet to receive a response. It’s clearly a shambles app, that they have had haphazardly made, with lots of bugs and no technical knowledge on how to support or even update it in the store on their side. And all of this, when you could just add a calendar reminder in your phone and it’ll function better anyways. Poor app, poor service. A really bad experience all around and not worth downloading.

It has one job…

And it fails to do it

Faulty, unneeded app

Whilst a Phox water filter is great, this simple app which allows you to count down when you need to change the filter is largely redundant. If it worked, you’d probably use it. As it doesn’t (push notifications don’t work, it logs you out frequently), I can’t see the point of it.

I’ll use iPhone calendar notifications from now on.

Thought my filter was in date - who knows

App is pointless as it generally fails to provide the one thing it is meant to do, tell you when your filter has expired. Hoping the filters are better at filtering water than the app is at doing its job.

Poor update

Poor update on app. Lost all log in details and also details of my days usage of my present filter. Annoying!

Deleted my last countdown…

So the app was updated and when I logged in it had deleted the last countdown I had set for my filter. Now I have no idea when I last changed it 🤷‍♂️.

Deleted the app, will just my phone’s calendar instead.
