Too difficult to test
Every action you try to test in limited mode reminds you you need to pay to preview how the app works. Not worth the effort when a simple habit tracker does the same job. š
I love this app
Iāve been using it for years and it is the reason Iāve ever done any of my physical therapy exercises. Itās not very intuitive to use, but for me thatās worth it because itās so customizable. I wish I could export and import csv files so that I could do larger edits to my workouts on a computer in an easier format and then just pop it back into the app. I would pay more for that feature.

DONāT BOTHER -Canāt test without a basic subscription
1. ALL features are locked until you sign up. Canāt even see how it works.
2. Instructions are confusing, complicated.
3. Help pages links lead to UNSECURED WEBSITES.

Worth the Effort
This is not the most intuitive app in the world. Iāve been using it a couple of years, and finally have it figured out. There is extensive documentation available, parts of which I had to read multiple times. This app is pretty complex, but provides every feature I can ever imagine needing. In the end, Iām glad I stuck with it. It makes following my exercise program sooo much easier, and my workout time is efficient because I donāt have to stop and refer to paper.

Not an intuitive interface.
Extremely not intuitive interface with very little instructions
Physical Therapy made easy!
I have been using this app for years for stretching and exercises. I donāt have to remember the routines or the timing. Just start the app and follow the prompts. Makes daily stretching a habit not a chore.
Best App for Physical Therapy
Donāt let the bland icon fool you. The user interface and functionality of this app is impressive and simple. I have tried many timers before PT Timer and itās by far the best. Itās a great motivational tool and an excellent way to focus on the exercise or stretch. I lay my iphone a few feet away and just follow my programmed routine. The developper is very responsive and helpful. My only complaint is with the iconā¦.
2024 update to my review !
Still a great app with little competition in the App Store. Once you understand the basics to create a workout timer itās unique in itās ability to let you turn off your brain and just do your Physio with the audio cues.
The subscription pricing is beyond fair.
My only complaint is the dated icon and user interface.

I love it but
If I barely touch the screen while exercising, the sound goes off and I have to shut down and restart the phone to get it back. ???
Thank you! Amazing app!
Exactly what I was looking for! Helps me keep track of my exercise reps and I love the audio functions letting me know when itās time to move on to the next rep. Thank you so much for creating this wonderful app!
Extremely customizable!
I have been able to use PT Timer to set up physical therapy, stretching and strength routines, and I feel like Iāve just scratched the surface to its fullest potential! Iām impressed how well thought out this app is, and if you canāt figure something out or think somethingās not working correctly or have a feature wish, the developer answers just about immediately! I havenāt experienced customer support to this level in an app before. I also use PT Timer for my yoga asana practice and as a meditation timer. Even as a Pomodoro timer! The possibilities are endless.

Best App for Exercise Routines
I wish I had found this app years ago. Iāve historically had limited success with physical therapy or rehabilitation exercises because theyāre boring, I procrastinate and run out of time, it feels overwhelming, I canāt keep track of when I did what, etc, etc. This app let me take out all the nonsense and just schedule something realistic and finite every day, and easily see when Iām done. I love the ability to send a report of my planned or actual exercises. The user interface is a little quirky at times with menus not exactly where I would expect them, but the learning curve is SO worth it.
The developer plans to add the ability to share your exercises and workouts with other people. When this is added, it will be even better. But I already love it so much I canāt give it less than 5 stars.

Crashes Too Often
If they can get it to stop crashing, it seemed like it would be helpful for coaching you through. Unluckily, it kept crashing while I was setting up my exercises and there were only 6 total.
Subscription required
PT Timer has most of the features I need but I wonāt use it because itās a subscription. Iād gladly pay for this app once and for major upgrades. Itās offputting to have the 1st thing you see in the app is a license agreement. How silly. Despite the developerās claim, they do track you. They send home your UUID.
The essential missing thing is the ability to add a photo for your PT exercise. My exercises should sync between all my devices, especially if folks pay a monthly fee. Exercises do export and import fine.

Great app butā¦
This is a very flexible app. But I added a photo to an exercise and it got chopped off. Iām unable to find a way to delete the photo. If I try to add an additional photo, the app aborts.
Perfect if your PT requires holding multiple reps
Therapy for my broken shoulder requires that I do ten reps, holding for 10 seconds, twice, for multiple exercises. Iām old. I canāt keep track of reps while also counting down seconds! And Iāll unconsciously cheat if I can; this stuff is painful.
The PT facility itself uses a wonderful, expensive app that shows the exercisesā¦but does it have a count down with hold times? It does not. It just swings blithely through the exercises. Useless!!
It took me half a day to find an app that does what I want and this is it. Itās perfect. It was simple to set it up they way I wanted it. Get ready, start, holdā¦
Put it this way, Iām stingy as heck but didnāt hesitate to pay the small amount when my free trial ended. In fact, I may explore beyond my simple 10x10 setup.

App: Best in Category - App Support: Professional & Prompt
PT Timer provides a comprehensive and well organized exercise routine manager.
PT Timer is superior to all the other exercise apps I sampled.
I purchased and have been using PT Timer since 2017. Just now I had reason to ask a couple of questions about the app. The developerās response to my query was timely and thorough, as was the reply to my follow up question.
PT Timer has proven to be one of the best iOS apps I have bought and used.

Worth the price
This app is worth the price. It is a great app for helping time and count exercises. It allows for one to completely customize the timing of your exercise routine, input tools necessary to complete the exercises, and add pictures, instructions, and website links for each. It does the job of counting and timing movements so that you can concentrate on form. I love this app and the customizability. If you need equipment that is not listed in the app the developers are super responsive and will add it to the app for you (I believe they are changing it so that you can enter equipment on your own.) I like that I donāt have to log in or create an account to use it - just open the app and go, but I donāt think the app will sink with other devices (I could be wrong on that). I do love this app and use it regularly, but because itās not 100% what Iād like it to be, therefore, I gave it only 4 stars, but it does what it claims to do very well. The following is a list of specific pros and cons: 1. All exercises must be entered in manually. Pro-great for customization, once exercises are entered you are good to go, you can modify all aspects of timing and counts as you get stronger or more familiar with routines. Con- its time consuming, it doesnāt come with any existing exercise except 3 examples, did I mention I find this very time consuming - (but people not so anal retentive can probably do it much quicker than I can.) 2. The app is not intuitive as I would like. Pro-itās super easy to use once you set up your exercise and routines. Con-some aspects of the app like changing web links, what category it falls into -stretching vs strength, changing exercise from single count to changing sides, volume of app vs ambient music, and adding equipment take some time to figure out how to do, but it is possible to do and becomes more intuitive as you work with the app. 3. Pro-you can easily modify timing while performing exercise reps/sets - just double tap the screen. You can also see instructions by tapping the screen. 4. Pro-You can link websites, add instructions, and pictures. Con-you can not add videos from your photo library. 5. Con-I would like to link audio to exercises that I can set to play while performing exercises to remind me of form (like when in a class the instructor will verbally tell you to engage certain muscles, relax others, how to align yourself or remind you not to do common mistakes) and be able to turn it on or off as needed, but the app canāt do that. Pro-this probably doesnāt matter for most individuals. 6. Individual exercises and circuits/routines are under the same tab. Pro-easy to find any exercise/routine in one location. Con-itās harder to easily distinguish between the two at a quick glance. (It would be nice if there was a more obvious distinguishing characteristics or if you could sort the list by type (exercise vs routine) or (stretch vs strength), etc. Finally, the last con is that because this app is not as intuitive as Iād like I know it has functions/abilities that I donāt know that it can do.

Very Customizable
Itās quite nice to be able to configure a Workout composed of multiple exercises. Then with a single touch, begin the workout and have voice guidance throughout.
I had been using a couple of other timer apps that are nowhere near as nice/customizable. I highly recommend the app and believe you will find it to be very good value.
I like the new subscription model. It gives me hope that the app will continue to receive future updates should that be necessary.

A superb app
This is one of the finest apps Iāve ever used.
Everything is customisable so that your physiotherapy or fitness programme is exactly to your needs and style.
It is āexactly what is says on the tinā
You do need to spend the 15 or so minutes doing the demo and training to understand and get the best use out of the app
Itās UI (user interface) is beautifully designed & I love the way it blends in with other apps such as having a phone call while still able to do the therapy exercises.
Following a major accident with 3 months in hospital, PT Timer is a gift from heaven.
Qi Analytics team, take a bow. You should be very proud of your product !
